WOW. The anti-gunners will do anything to take guns away from people, eh?

I'm betting they can find something anyone in any family did that they can use to take away guns...

Reposting in general as a moderator seemed to say it didn't belong were it was, though there are similar threads in different forums, so it's a bit confusing. Thus they closed it rather than moved it for some reason. Either way, here it is again for others to see and comment.

I think it's pretty important as if it is what it appears to be, it's a massive abuse of governmental power over someones rights.

If ever there was a good case for the NRA to help with legal support in NYS, this would be a good choice and should be a slam-dunk. Get a few points on our side of the scoreboard in that state..

NY doesn't need the NRA they need to elect officials who won't take away their freedoms. People get the government they deserve. They can't always count of the courts to overturn the officials they keep electing.

:what:

This is like watching some bad dream, or a slow motion train wreck...

Posted to Facebook, this is sickening. Hopefully the SAF will help him out.

Heck, the ACLU could evn help. They might not defend the 2nd, but NY was willing to trample the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th here. The ACLU is behind 3 of those at lease.

It is to own only.

Concealed carry permits are available in New York, but they're invalid in NYC.

Is this "license" to carry concealed or simply to own?
Licenses in Suffolk County allow the gun owner to carry concealed to-and-from the range only. The Suffolk County Police Dept. is the licensing agency, and can suspend one's license at their discretion. Full carry on Long Island is virtually non-existant.

The gun owning citizens of New York permit this behavior on the part of government and its agents. I have NO sympathy for this man because he CHOSE to live there and CHOOSES to put up with it.

New York courts will not do anything to return the right to keep and bear arms to New York. Gun owners could not stop the SAFE Act and they definitely will never overcome the licensing scheme put in place all those decades ago. I bet that is considered "well settled" law and no mere lawsuit is going to change it. Even if it does, it will be years before it is resolved, which does nothing to help Mr. Mayer now.

Not everybody gets to choose where they live. Thankfully I did leave NY and NEVER looked back but I could see how family/work ties could keep some people there. Now, Governor Gump in my state is going to reveal his new proposed legislation on Tuesday. I know it will be stupid because everything that comes out of his office is. Our laws are not horrible as they are, but they are a bit restrictive. You know he's not planning to loosen anything up so whatever he proposes will be pure trash. Not sure that I'll be able to just up and leave if something ridiculous gets passed.

We are living the line from Conan, except we are the ones being driven: "To crush your enemies -- See them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women!" The attacks have only begun, it's a very long way to 2017. Joe

Now that is another of the dumb things NY is doing. I feel for the people who have to live in that state.

Nobody "HAS TO" live in that state....or "any" state for that matter.
It's a choice.
Moving can certainly be easier said than done in many financial circumstances...but still...it's not like the government is holding people hostage against their will.

Personally, I'd like to see the whole state walled off. Round up every progressive in the country and toss them in there too. Then put Snake Plissken in charge of stopping any and all escapes....lol

What did you do to deserve Obama?

He MAY have some legal grounds to fight it because the actions that spurred their decision were not his own. And this is something that may go all the way up to Federal court.

My family has been living in Upstate since before there even WAS a New York City. No they don't HAVE to live there, but I can't really see any good reason that my family should be FORCED to leave. The issue is seriously one of NYC vs the rest of the state. Annoyingly there is a Tyranny of the Majority thing going on that the more reasonable Upstaters have little ability to fight.
