With all the stress and anxiety these last few months have cause us shooting aficionados, I figure a thread which looks back at the good ole days is right about due. And when I mean the good old days I mean WAY back to a time where most of us probably weren't even born; the wild and crazy 1980s! Tears for Fears, parachute pants and an Uzi, does that sum up the era pretty well? I couldn't tell you, I was born late 86 so I remember nothing from the 80s (and from what I can tell, probably better for it).
The nice thing about firearms is that if it works, it works; a SAA will still kill a man as good as it did over 100 years ago. What does change however are the aesthetics of advertising as well as the styles of equipment and gear from era to era and that is something I find fun to indulge in. So for you very few dinosaurs still amongst the living who were in the gun scene way back when new machine guns were still transferable, what was it like (and post pics if you have any too)?
Some things to get us in the mood...

Now THAT'S a laser site!!!
One thing I really couldn't find was tactical gear. MOLLE this and MOLLE that, I want to see a mall ninja before the term was even coined!
