I love Ruger Blackhawks, so I added a new one.

Late last year I picked up a NM Blackhawk in .38/.357, with blue 6.5" bbl, and white grips. I liked it so much I just decided I 'needed' another one, and I decided on a .44 special, with blue 5.5" bbl and the standard black grips.

Hopefully, I'll be able to head to the range tomorrow to try out the new .44 special. But,if the air quality is bad, I might not get to go. We're having forest fires everywhere in the state, 8 fires total right now with several pretty close.

BTW - I think white grips are in the future for the .44. :)
(I just discovered that the grips are not interchangeable.)

I like them also I've got 3 of them a single six in 22lr/22mag a 30 carbine and a 44mag soon I want to add a 357/9mm as soon a the $$ will allow it o happen.

Here's my Flattop Blackhawk .44 Special with American Holly grips. I always have liked the way white grips looked in contrast with a blued revolver.

Blackhawk

Had a 3-screw 357/9mm convertible, many years ago.
Awesome handgun, it could put 6 in 4" at 50 yds.
Only have a New Model in 41 Mag now. It shoots just about the same.

that 44 flat top has the modern XR3 grip frame.. Any grips for a "New Vaquero" will also fit it.

The old XR3 and XR3 RED (that's what your .357 has) are similar but different enough where the grips don't interchange.

I like the white on blue look too.

After regrettably selling a 45LC/45acp years ago I just bought this .357/9mm.

^ is it just the light or is the Stainless BH polished?^ Very nice, as is the CCH/Blisley Hammered, Sanbar Stag gripped BH as well.

I too love my Ruger Blackhawks. Top is 45LC/ACP and the bottom is 44 magnum. Both 7.5" barrels and both shoot great.

If only I could find some short 4.6" ones. :(

I agree that those white grips look mighty handsome on the blued guns.

I may have to pick up a pair. Then I can put the wood on the stainless Vaquero when it arrives to replace the now-standard rubber grips.

Be careful when ordering grips. Between the Old and New Model mid frame and large frame Blackhawks, Vaquero's and New Vaquero's , there's a number of different grip frames, and the grips aren't all interchangeable..

Thank you for the heads-up; I appreciate it.

I would be switching between a New Model BlackHawk and a New Vaquero. I'll be sure to double-check.

New Model Flat Top (mid frame) Blackhawk grips will swap with a New Vaquero.

Standard (Large Frame) Blackhawk grips will not fit a New Vaquero grip frame. (exception being 50th Anv. large frame 44 Mag BH)

I like stag grips, myself. These are sanban stag, hard to get anymore.

Nice gun you got there. .44 special is a caliber that never really did it for me, but lots of fans. I think a .41 mag Blackhawk would be ny next, if I get another one. I have this .45 stainless and a blued .357 6.5". I also have a blued Old Army cap and ball, if that counts. :D

Here are my Blackhawks that I currently have, a stainless version in .357 Mag and a blued one in .45 Colt, both have a 4 5/8" inch barrel. I carry them in a Threepersons holster.

MCgunner, that engraved BH with stag is gorgeous.
I am a fan of .44 Spl. But, again, I'm a fan of lots of calibers.

Why does Ruger use those crappy plastic grips? Because they're cheaper to make than wood. Once you make back the costs of the molds and molding machines, anyway.

I recently added a Blackhawk in 30 Carbine - and love it. It's my first Blackhawk, but I'm think it will have some friends in a different caliber soon!

I love them too. I have a 7.5" model in .45 Colt for now. I would love to add another to the collection. I'm thinking either .357 mag or .44 Spcl for the next one. I anticipate it being 4.62" barrel. Want something a little more comfortable to carry on my hip in deer season.
