We need a Protest against Bloomberg's Anti-Gun Tour!

http://www.demandaction.org/detail/2013-06-six-months-after-newtown-shooting-mayors-against-ill

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this. Mayor Bloomberg of New York City and of Mayors Against Illegal Guns is going on a tour and will speak at 10 state events . This will be part of an overall 25 state drive where they will have rallies with supporters including politicians for gun control.

There not done yet trying to drum up support for another gun control initiative and using Newtown/Sandy Hook as a vehicle to push forth their gun control agendas.

"In addition to the memorial service in Newtown, Mayors Against Illegal Guns also held 10 statewide events to mark the six-month anniversary of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School and remember its victims. These states include: Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania."

The question is what is the best way to counteract these events? We could make up signs and protest and perhaps hand out flyers and maybe educate. But we must show up and be heard.

Maine is on that list as well.
They were just here yesterday. According to one article I read they took turns reading off the names of some 6,100 people who have died by guns since Newtown (I'm sure half of them were by cops or a bunch of gang bangers in LA but they don't mention any of that).

Folks, do be careful. Just because these people want to take our guns doesn't mean they're not protected by heavily armed and trigger-happy guards.

Gun Rights - Call for Action - Simple Direct meaningful action to preserve our rights

This thread is to help with simple yet direct meaningful action to preserve our rights no matter if they are local, state or federal initiatives.

Lets start with this one...

Bloomberg is at it again. This vicious multimillionaire mayor of NY has put a BUS on the road to go from town to town to convince Americans that we need to get rid of guns and the basic rights associated with them.
This person is out of control so please take a minute to read this blog and follow the advice.

The WAR on guns, Notes from the resistance...

A few words on this thread

Dear friends,
As you know since to the tragic events in NewTown, CT, Webster, NY and other shootings we have been attacked from all angles from the anti gun politicians, their lobby and the white house.
These unspeakable atrocities committed by mentally unstable and criminal savages gave the anti-gun groups a huge opportunity to sell to the Nation that the guns are the problem and even us, responsible firearm owners are part of the problem too. Somehow pretrain us as evil people, like if we didn't care about violence, public safety and the safety or our schools and children something that obviously that could not be any further from the truth.
We just have a different approach (a realistic one) on how to resolve the violence problems.

In NYS our most fundamental rights have been violated with a set of illegal statutes that were rushed in the middle of the night right after the new year and that have been put in place. 99% of the counties have voted against the so called SAFE act and the Sheriffs associations, NYSRPA, SCOPE, Tresmond LAw and other organizations, companies and individuals have now started legal proceedings and filed lawsuits against NY State for violations of the 2nd, 4th amendments as well as other fundamental constitutional and civil rights.

I have created a thread for NY State where a group of people in collaboration with this and other forums we are very active in the fight to preserve our rights.

The thread I created was intended for NYS fight at the time but in the end we have been also connecting with people in other states and forums and helping them with their own state fights as well as the fight at the federal level. So after discussing with some colleagues and if the admins think this is the appropriate place I though creating a thread where we can all go to
provide support to any initiative whether is a the state, local or federal level.

The idea is to provide links here to quick yet direct and meningful actions that are going to make a difference. We had those calls in other threads and forums and as a result we were able to help influence agendas and decisions in some of the latest fights. The other day I was very happy to find out that the many calls and notes to Nevada state concluded that the governor vetoed the propose package.

So please share your thoughts and please bring any articles, links or any information that you find where a call for action is needed and share it here.
Sometimes a few minutes spent on this goes long ways towards winning these fights.

One thing is clear, we will never quit. They will struggle but we will persevere and come on top.

Police Taser Gun Rights Advocate at Anti-Gun Violence Rally

What happened here will happen again. Bloomberg's comedy tour have the right to exercise their 1st amendment. We have that right too.

Things go awry with the Billionaire Bully's road tour in Concord, NH. (Link has video)

Police Taser Gun Rights Advocate at Anti-Gun Violence Rally - Concord, NH Patch

http://concord-nh.patch.com/article...hts-advocate-at-anti-gun-rally#video-14823818

An anti-gun violence rally at the Statehouse plaza on Tuesday turned ugly when gun rights supporters turned out to protest the event and one pro-gun advocate had to be Tasered by Concord Police after resisting their efforts to detain him.
Daniel Musso, 52, of Brentwood attempted to interject commentary while John Cantin of Manchester was speaking about his efforts to influence U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, on the background check issue.

Musso, who was wearing a pro-Native American rights T-shirt, asked Cantin to take his glasses off and later, challenged Cantin's statements and statistics. Private security hired by the Mayors Against Illegal Guns group asked Musso to leave but he didn't budge. After a few minutes, Musso threw up his hands and left Cantin's side.

Later, police were led by the private security team to the Musso's location, interspersed with other gun rights advocates and began speaking with him. A scuffle broke out and three officers attempted to subdue Musso.

The three officers eventually pinned Musso up against the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce information booth in the plaza and repeatedly warned him to stop resisting while he denied he was resisting. An officer kneed Musso and he was then Tasered by another officer and brought to the ground before being taken into custody.

Musso was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and two counts of simple assault, allegedly against a person who was attending the rally and a police officer. He was held on $5,000 cash bail, and will be on arraigned June 19.

Police issued an all-units alert to Main Street, with at least eight or nine cruisers at the scene, and a number of state troopers.
The 5 p.m. rally was organized by the Mayors Against Illegal Guns group, which is in the process of visiting 25 states this summer to raise awareness about gun violence and the group’s belief that more laws are needed.

Things started to get rowdy shortly after the rally began, as gun rights advocates staged their own counter rally.

Some gun rights advocates at the scene were yelling things like "Bloomberg go home!" trying to interrupt the proceedings, but the speaker just continued, speaking louder. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is part of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns effort.

As of 6 p.m. the anti-gun rally was continuing, with organizers continuing to read a list of names of gun violence victims.

Folks, do be careful. Just because these people want to take our guns doesn't mean they're not protected by heavily armed and trigger-happy guards.
Yes do be careful, ensure you are well armed to defend yourselves. I hope as this tour bus makes it around more and more pro gun guys show up to defend us. By the time I learned of the one in my state it was already over.

I mean mind your P&Q's. At a recent NH rally a pro gun fellow got up in the speaker's face, laid hand on him several times, demanded he remove his sunglasses, and generally made a horse's backside of himself before getting touchy-feely with a cop and getting himself arrested. Be polite, be SOBER and be civilized. We win on facts, not by being bullies. In short, don't be like this guy:

A counter protest where calm and sensible pro-RKBA points are made is a far better idea than HECKLING. I will never support hecklers.

We need to use the controversy around the Bloomberg Bus tour reading off the name of the Boston Marathon bomber as a "victim of gun violence" at every one of these events. It should be noted to every neutral or 2A supportive paper and news station and talk radio station whenever the Bloomberg Bus is discussed. It paints them as being completely out of touch and illustrates that the numbers are biased and used just for propaganda purposes. It also insults the intelligence of the communities the bus hits to have any criminal, not just the most notorious one in years, on that list of names. Gang members, murders shot by police, and Tamerlan Tsarnaev have no business on there with honest victims of their sort.

Is there a schedule of when and where they will be speaking? I would like to attend any in South Florida.

Virgina Citizen's Defense League seemed to turn out a nice little group. Everyone else who is on the tour list needs to do the same. Hold up so many signs that they can't even take a snap shot without getting a pro 2A sign in the background.

"Non-violent protest" I believe is one of the best methods in our current media
run world.

Because I think y'all might be amused by this one...

Subject: We look forward to seeing you on Monday at the Capitol
Date: Sat, 22 Jun 2013 22:16:12 -0400

Dear No More Names attendees,

Thank you for your commitment to sensible gun legislation by coming to the,Capitol on Monday and join the voices of reason who support commonsense gun, legislation.

If possible, please arrive by 11:30 for the noon press conference including victim survivors and other inspirational speakers who will address the need for better federal and state legislation

Please dress cool and bring a bottle of water.

Important info not meant to frighten you.

We have monitored the gun groups' blogs and are certain there will be some protesters present. The Sheriff's Dept and Capitol Police will be keeping us safe, and at other stops where, the "wing nuts" were present, they were fairly passive and knew their place.

Please do not engage them. The best course is to ignore them, and if they become disruptive to a speaker, the particular speaker will handle the issue. Don't try to hush them up. We want the media to cover our strong message, not a confrontation with the other side.

Transportation:
MARTA is your best bet if available. Going on the north/south line, exit the Georgia State University Station. Exit the station, turn left and walk up to ML King drive where you will see the Capitol diagonally to the right. Cross MLK, turn right and walk alongside the Capitol. Then turn left on Washington Street where you will see us assembled.

If driving, there is a $5/all day parking lot on the corner of ML King and Washington St., diagonally across from our assembly area.

We look forward to seeing you on Monday and making a big statement for NO MORE NAMES.

So... they are counting on guys with guns to protect them from the people who like guns. Irony doesn't even begin to cover it. :banghead:

Bwahahaha...

Do they know how contradictory that sounds?

Maybe they should say it out loud and reflect.
