First thanks for all your help I have been reading this forum for over a year now and I’m ready to start reloading minus the brass. I have bought a Hornady LNL all the dies, powder, small primers, Berry’s bullets for loading 45ACP and 40cal. I want to start with the 45 and need brass. I wanted to load with SPP’s because with loading 40 and 45 I will only need the one size of primers.
Now the question I have found brass in two places but the brass on Midsouth sounds like it’s not used for my 1911 and the one on Midway looks like it is. Are they the same brass or not? Does anyone know were I could get once shot brass with SPP in 45ACP? This is the last thing I need to start and you can imagine I’m at the end of my funds.

Thanks for your help.

.45 ACP brass is .45 ACP brass. If your gun is chambered for .45 ACP both will work. Lots of places for buying 1X brass. Goggle is your friend.....if not someone will come along with a link.

"I’m at the end of my funds"

When I started reloading .45 most if not all of my brass was once fired factory stuff that I had been purchasing in the months before. Now I have a ton of "pick ups" that I have salvaged from local shooting spots in both LPP and SPP cases. In time you'll have all the brass you need and as a beginner it helps to work in small batches any way while you're learning the ropes.

Dave,

Look in the Reloading section of For Sale & Trade Forum at the bottom of the main page. There's good prices on brass there all the time.

To the OP, that is insane to pay that much for brass. Plus they are both the same product. Look for once fired brass or as I see some nice members have already contacted you:)

PM sent to you bds.

Thanks everyone I thought it was the same just was not sure. I've been shooting all my life and have well over 1000 maybe even 2000 40cal brass and have had the Hornady LNL and everything for the 40 for almost 3 years. The posts for reloading 40S&W have held me up on trying and I just got my first 1911 4 months ago and have all but the brass for that now. I just wanted to get the 45 with the same primer size because I have 5000 of them on hand.

Thanks again eveyone for your input and help.

Ok. If you were in my area I would have tried to get you going somehow. I loaded all of my small primer brass back in May. A few packs of large primers wouldn't be the end of the world until you locate enough small primer brass.

I swapped out 1000 LPP .45 for 1000 SPP .45. Once I get done shooting up the rest of my 1000 reloaded .45 LPP I'm swapping that out for SPP as well. Just keep your eyes out and network. Don't be affraid to put out a WTT add. Brass is as good as money in many circles trade wise. You'll get there!

The brass you linked is just fine (although I'd get once-fired brass, rather than new).
But why would you think it's not for your gun?
Not trying to flame you or be a smart aleck.
Just trying to find out why.

BDS and OP:

Good on ya BDS for the paying it forward. OP--If you still need some SP brass let me know and I will be willing to "pay you forward" some as well.
