I'm an AK guy and only ever needed to worry about 7.62. Over the past couple of years, I've done pretty minimal research and have found that learning about reputable brands for the caliber has been tremendously easy. But I'm soon picking up a Steyr AUG A3 and now need to learn all about the different brands and weights that are optimal for the AUG A3's 1:9 barrel.
All of the different brands and variants are mind numbing! Black Hills, Lake City, XM, green tip, black tip, 55 gr, 77 gr, etc etc. I'd love to hear from an AUG user. Is steel case ok for this system? What weights are best for the partiular twist rate?
I don't reload so I'm looking for suggestions or recommendations for factory ammo. I haven't been able to find a one-stop shop for info on all the different brands that are available, so I really have no concept as to what brand is generally known as cheap, low quality or pricey, high quality. Please advise, friends! Thanks in advance!
