New Years resolutions gun wise

My current resolution gets there secondhand.
Get the small business (hobby supply, for nerds) started up and profitable, so I can afford to buy the Saiga, shotgun, and .357 I had to sell off, and fix the car so I can get to the range.
Yes, those are my markers as my first goal.

My goal is to take several long wilderness trail hikes in the North Carolina/Tennessee mountains this spring,, about my favorite spot in the whole USA, packing my wonderful 5" barrel, S&W 629 Classic .44 Magnum, the best gun in the whole world... to me!



Great Smokey National Park.

Make at least two range trips a week and continue mentoring two young shooters who reload and cast now.

Hone my bench shooting and then transfer than over to practical shooting at ranges up to 500 yds kneeling, prone, etc.

Get 2 new deer rifles set up and practiced with. I'm on my way with a Sako A3 in 25-06. Collected some components over the past weekend to start loading. The second will likely be a Winchester Featherweight in 7mm-08 or if I can swing the coin, a Kimber Montana.

Try to get more 22lr up on the shelf for when the kids are here and get them out more.

Work on finding a 1/2MOA combination for my 22-250. I have several that are consistently 3/4MOA.

Stock up on primers and powder.

Get more shelving up in the reloading area.

Get the fiancé more involved with shooting if time will allow.

Range and Mark 100-1000 yards in 100 yd increments on the power line that runs through the hunting club.

Too much more to list.

My resolutions are.

1. Buy bigger safe.
2. Fill new safe with new guns
3. See ammo buy ammo
4. Start storing reloading componets
5. Start reloading

I plan to work on my rifle shooting. We hunt elk in NM every year and the shots required out there are much longer than what I am used to in Ky., so I plan to extend my effective range.
I also am going to hunt Red Stag in New Zealand this year. Missing is an unacceptable option.

I hereby resolve to:

1. Get into reloading;

2. Resist the urge to buy more guns that I simply don't need;

3. Organize my mess---workbench, garage, basement, et cetera. I don't know how and why I let it get out of hand, but I did.

My time for the firearms hobby is limited, and my daily work disallows carry. I have therefore resolved to practice more often, carry whenever I can, do something in the reloading room every week, be diligently situationally aware and not worry about what other people think about my guns.

1. Start reloading. I've had components and a press for over a year with no bench or space. Cleared a space and built a bench last week, just have to get it set up.

2. Get the accessories I need for the firearms I have before buying any more guns. I have 2 rifles that need glass (although leaning towards a peep sight for the 336). Need a good IWB for my P07 for winter carry. Mags, slings, etc.

Mine is to buy less guns and actually buy ammo and accessories for the ones I have.

Be more diligent on brass cleaning.

I tend to let it build up too much before cleaning, then it is a week process of tumbling.

Locate and buy property with shooting range possibilities.

Set up my man-cave. I've been coasting on this for some time, so I'm hoping to get it done this year.

When reloading stuff and .22 ammo becomes available again...keep a lot more on hand than I previously have. 5000 bullets instead of just 1000. 8+ pounds of powder instead of just a pound. 10,000 rounds of .22 ammo instead of just 1000

Build up my ammo supply.
Decide on an on optic for my AR-15.
Get a few guns repaired.
Sell one of my Vaqueros and get a matched pair SASS of them.
Shoot at least twice a month.

1) Finish my AR build
2) Start reloading
3) Hopefully get my CCW

More range time
Load a bunch of ammo with supplies I've ben setting on

To not buy any guns that I don't want or need.

Exactly what I did today, and plan to do at least once a week minimum. All I have to do is walk, but now I drive to the back of property and let rip. Today my wife and I went out and today was the first time she joined for such an outing. Went thru a rather large amount of ammo for the AK, 2-20ga shotguns, three hand guns. Most fun was when my wife took the AK and let rip a 30rd mag. For a Texas/Yankee she really enjoyed that.

My New Years resolution is to quit buying guns and components. I'm even embarrassed!

I really would like to be able to get a .270 and maybe even a 9mm then call it quits. Oh and a deer would be nice too!

Im gonna host a ccp class in my farm shed. friends and family get a little training and a ccp for our new carry law here in Ill.

Find somewhere to shoot that isn't over an hour away.
