Keep in mind that each mold and design costs $50,000+, so we need to make sure it will make money before going to production. No offense, but the market for the Stoegar Cougar is a little too niche for us right now.

Makes sense. Good luck

My Wife said, when I bought a 45ACP MAC 10, "That's the ugliest gun I've ever seen".

I told her, "The beauty of a gun is not in it's form but in how well it functions".

I know personally that the RT rail functions just beautifully on the 1911.

Drilling the dust cover is a secure and solid way to mount a rail. Its also a modification that drastically destroys resale value. Seeing a drilled dust cover tells me the previous owner had no issue messing with anything they wanted to any extent. Knowing too many Bubbas, I pass on every one. That or they were a competition shooter and the pistol has probably seen more rounds than I could count in a year. Either way, any drilling is a huge red flag for me.

Now, I don't have a use for a rail personally. Its not a tool I use. If a rail is what you desire, you don't want to sell your current pistol, and you don't want to modify the pistol permanently I think this would be a great option and is rather moderately priced. Sounds like a good solution to the issue.

I've drilled holes in guns to mount rails for lasers and laser/lights, to increase their usefulness at night, but there won't be any holes drilled in my 1911 pistols.

So do we, since there is only one variation (not including the Taurus) it is proving much easier to design for. We already have the modeling done, will be going to 3d print shortly and will release it at the IWA Exhibition in Nuremberg next month. The design is pretty radical, I will leave it at that.
