Those are all some beautiful 99s. I still own these two 99As and long ago had a 99C but foolishly let it go. The top one is a .308 and the bottom one is a .250. The .250 is my favorite deer rifle and cartridge.
i have a 99E in .308. i got when i was 15 i just turned 62. it was my 1st deer rifle. hunting in mich. it was a perfect brush gun with the 22" barrel and a sling. my dad and step brother had a .300, my step mother had a .308. i never put a scope on it but that is a project i've been thinking about. i've seen the weaver mounts i need just haven't decided on rings or a scope yet.
Just rescued this 99F in .300 from a kid that didn't know what he was doing. Got it for $150 because he couldn't get a scope mounted(put a weaver 19 front and rear)
I found that the rotary mag isn't as difficult to disassemble and clean as some make it out to be.
My Son has a 99 in 300 Savage. Was given to him when he was about 14 by a old neighbor man who passed away and willed it to him. Old firearm but very accurate. Would be nice if they were mfg again.
I have 99E in .243 that I am pretty sure is from around 1974. It was my first rifle from my dad when I turned twelve so it's a keeper. When I went off to college and joined the 'real world' my nephew was using it for deer, and I got it back with a few extra dings and gouges on the stock. Plus it looks like it was shortened (maybe dad bought it that way).
I like Boyds stocks which was the direction I was going to go for it.
