I think That scope has been discontinued by Weaver, and I don't know what to tell you?
I also don't know if they ever made a sun-shade for them?

Or, you can make a sunshade out of a proper size thin-wall PVC pipe press fit over the front bell.
Paint it flat black inside & out with a can of auto touch-up paint.

Thanks rc. I might have to check into the PVC pipe thing. I called Weaver on the way home from work but were pretty tight lipped about everything.
 
I think I'll order a cheap one and hope for the best. I don't know about the PVC thing. Does it stay in place pretty good I wonder. Running 70 rounds of high powered rounds might jar it loose. I'd be worried it affecting accuracy somehow.
 
If it stays on and you can see through it, it will not affect accuracy.

It is out of the focus of the lens and makes no fifference at all.

If it won't stay on?

You got the wrong size, or didn't use enough black vynal electrical tape to keep it in place.

Trust me, that's what the top guns do.

I emailed weaver several years back with this same question and below is there response.

The Weaver 50 mm Sun Shade 849733 will work.
