I don't think many complaints exist about his work or it's value.
The main issue has been AR triggers, what parts were supplied, and whether he got to work with them in the lower. Many AR triggers are surface case hardened using a softer base material. It's all about low costs to manufacture, and when left alone it meets milspec.
Stone, grind, or otherwise remove the very thin case hardening, and the soft base material is exposed, which is not resistant to wear.
Again, I don't hear those with AR triggers complaining about Bill's work - but their choice of what parts to send seems to be the issue they refuse to admit causes the problem. They blame Bill when it's their junk he's working on, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he starts refusing to work on AR triggers at all. But - it's a large and growing market, hard to ignore what is basically an easy job.
Therefore, the buyer of his services must recognize their culpability in sending parts that are well known to be substandard for that kind of work.
Me, I bought a lower with an adjustable set screw for the takeup and it's as good as my other civilian rifles. Once the sear faces break in, there's almost no grit or drag anyway. And, it's a tactical rifle - 22 years USAR I always shot Expert with GI triggers. They don't contribute much to inaccuracy if you have the skills.
