It only took about 15 yrs but today I tracked down a shotgun that had been "REWORKED" by a true craftsman. He has passed on but he did pass on his knowledge to a young man that hopefully will only get better with age. This one is a Winchester Red Letter Model 37 which in this part of the world is concerned the best shotgun for turkey shoots that can be had. During the time my friend reworked his guns I never could afford to buy one of his even though we were friends I don't use that as a trump card and never asked any favors. But the whole story now is I own one and can't wait for the next Sat to head to a local Turkey shoot (after I pattern this one) . Pictures are not best but heck I do good just learning how to turn the darn thing on.

That's nice and I like it.

My first hunting alone gun was a 37 in .410. 50 years later when some one says "shotgun" it is my first thought. Loved the sound of it opening and closing.

T'was in north Florida near the thristate point so I imagine yours will see some very similar sights.

Been keeping an eye out for a 12 gauge for a few years that was not either shot to pieces, left in the barn, or apparently made of gold.........

I've been looking for one in 20 ga for quite some time, but most of the examples I've found are in very rough shape and their restoration would not be remotely cost effective. That's a beautiful shotgun you've got there, which harkens back to simpler times.

I found a Winchester 37 in 16 ga a few weeks ago it was in very rough condition. Still at $100.00 I should have bought it. The 37's are getting harder to get a match set from .410 up to 10ga. Really glad I held out and found the Red Letter 12ga. Might have to restart a search again for the 37s. Did a little research on the one I have, +20% if its red letter, + 15% if it has a 32" Barrel. And on top the gun is still snug not wobbling every time you open it up.
