Just an idea on how good buffing can work I got a great buy on these two case Folding Hunter knives the first owner engraved both with I think one of those electric pencils. I sent them to Case and they buffed the marks out. and charged me zero!!

to my eye those look like folding hunters to me. a trapper has the clip point and a long spey blade, folding hunters have a clip and a california clip
Nice knives regardless and case has great CS

ps wonder why they were marked as such? ive seen salesman samples but thats usually just inked on somewhere… wonder hmm

I sent a 1973 vintage #6207 mini-trapper into them about 2 years ago with a chipped scale and a very worn pen blade.
They don't have any of the red bone scales left so they replaced that scale with chestnut bone, re-profiled the pen blade, polished both blades and the bolsters. Cost? $0.00
No complaints from me.

Ivankerley, you are correct they are Folding Hunters my bad :uhoh:
I think the original owner put the last four numbers of his social on them as a anti theft thing.

wow really, they're in beautiful shape the newer ones that I've seen and I have one don't have the hole in the bolster, guessing for a lanyard or a bail not sure but ya got some nice examples there. a Camillus folding hunter was my first pocket knife as a kid, was my grandpas, some big knives

They are as new unused unsharpened etc. I have some trappers but the medium size. I think my two biggest are a Buffalo & a Bulldog.
Don't know about the hole maybe a good place for something made out of parachute cord :D

ive seen the bulldog clasp pattern and they are bigguns
case CS is great i bought my dad a case yeller CV peanut years ago, he ran it through the wash lost the shield, sent an email to case they mailed me a replacement shield and were incredibly polite in correspondence too
case is good in my book

Nice to hear about the great customer service from Case Knives. I own quite a few Case knives but thankfully I have never had to use their CS.

Not a case guy but I do like how the band accents the silver belly. Very nice
