M1860's Cavalry Commemoratives

I have a couple of Colt revolvers that were made in the '70's I think and are some sort of commemorative U.S thing.
I am in Canada so not sure what these are about.
They have a stamp on the left side of the barrel that is: United States Cavalry Commemorative.

These guns didn't come in a wood presentation case, they were in a brown cardboard box with a styrofoam liner.
A dealer was selling an entire Colt collection including a lot of nice original antiques. I bought a total of six second generation Colts, two 3rd model Dragoons these 1860's a squareback 1851 with silver plated backstrap and trigger guard and an 1862 Police ,also silver plated.
