Anyone stopped Mossberg trigger unit cross pin from walking out?

I have now had two different polymer Mossberg trigger units in which the rear crosspin has move partially out. See the picture below where I am pointing. Fir the most part the shotgun operates fine. It just makes disassembly a bit more tedious. I need to remove the rifle stock in order to get the trigger guard out as the cross pin protrudes just enough.

Mossberg has send me a replacement trigger unit and I will inspect after 250 rounds to see if it has the same problem. If it does, I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it.

One possible fix would be to put a drop of epoxy on each side of the pin so it can't wiggle out. The unit costs only $90 and I've never had one break. So even if I need to buy a new one it's not that much.

Also, I don't recall this being an issue on my aluminum 590A1 trigger unit so I could just buy a metal trigger unit from my 500.

I look forward to hear if others had had this issue and if they have found a simple solution.

Push it out part-way, put a small drop of blue lock-tight on both ends, and push it back in.

That will hold it in place, but still allow it to be removed if necessary.

I'm not so sure about gluing it. That little crosspin (mainspring retaining pin) holds the mainspring, mainspring plunger and mainspring guide.

Can you use epoxy or some other filler material to fill in the area of the stock so that the pin can't walk out?

In other words, leave the pin/trigger unit alone and instead eliminate the void in the stock that lets the pin move side-to-side.

I've never had much luck with various Loc-Tite and plastic parts -- probably why the threads on the tube cover don't get "locked".

I use a bit of crazy glue after degreasing, it can still be knocked out if need be, just a small touch of the glue should do it.

IMHO, likely the best solution. Ruger 10/22s are like this where the stock holds in the pins.

Well, the new one I received had the same problem as well. I sent it back and will try one more. If it gives me grief I will crazy lock epoxy it. I find it tends to misfire when the pin has moved about once every 15-20 rounds. I never had this'problem in past and spoke to Mossberg in detail about it. They are surprised as well.

Just wanted to give an update. After three units of the plastic trigger group from Mossberg, they were all having the same problem. My guess is some component or components had incorrect tolerances. I purchased the aluminum trigger unit from Brownells (Mossberg won't sell it and wouldn't give me a replacement one for the plastic ones for which I will ding them on from a good customer service perspective). After inserting the aluminum one, I have on the order of 750 to 1000 rounds through it since and the problem is completely gone. I'm not knocking the plastic trigger unit, the original plastic trigger unit worked completely fine for 5000+ rounds before Mossberg swapped it out when trying to fix a different issue.
