I've been looking for two different .22 Long Rifle loadings: CCI Velocitor and Aguila SniperSubSonic. I've been looking just for a box of these and I can't find them. The closest I've come is one shop owner said he could have gotten Aguila SSS for $10/box of 50, but decided against it since people are cheap and it wouldn't have sold well.

I can't find any online and whatever info you guys have would be appreciated.

It's where you find it.

All Aguila has been hard to find for a few years now for some reason.
I got a box of Aguila SSS last week for free from a friend, who got it from another friend, who bought a brick at a gun show a month ago.

I haven't seen any CCI Velocitor in three years.

Not sure they are making much of it while just trying to keep up with Quiet, Mini-Mag, and other stuff you find occasionally at Walmart.

Yeah, all I see from CCI today is Mini-mag, Standard Velocity, and two months ago I saw Stingers.

As for Aguila, just the standard round nose is all I ever see and that's dwindled lately. Most .22 I find today is Remington Golden Bullet, Remington Subsonic, and CCI Mini-mag and Quiets.

Do see .22 shorts consistently tho. Pays to have a manually operated .22 :D

Back when I would troll Walmart every morning on my way to work CCI Velocitor and Stinger would show up now and then. I stopped my daily trolling about a year ago.

THis is the best source I've found for ammo availability

The Aquila SSS is available...
but not the CCI.

you can use this link to find any caliber or any brand just by chosing the " sort by feature...
http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/rimfire/22lr/

hope this helps. Of course this is on line sources. IM tired of hoping to see it at my local gun shop, or brick and mortar store.

I resigned myself to the fact that if I want to shoot specific loads from specific manufactu8rers its goi8ng to cost me more to do so.. IM happy just to be able to shoot what I want, even if it cost me more.

Occasionally I will get with 2 other members of my gun club, and buy a case and split the shipping, which then amounts to about 5 dollars a person.

followed the link in Gun bot

I followed the link in gun bot and it took me here:

http://www.ammofast.com/collections...-sniper-subsonic-22lr-60-grain-lrn-50-rnd-box

shipping is 10 dollars... so consider buying enough to hold you over and make the shipping cost worth while..

so if you buy 10 boxes @ 7.99 its 79.99 a brick + 10 for shipping ...

I'm not going to use the thought process that I could buy this stuff for 5 dollars a box a few years ago, because it isn't a few years ago... if you want to play, you have to pay... its 2015...

Please don't flame me... the topic was ammo gone AWOL..... I provided a source ... one that I use, and the price is the price... if the topic was find me Aquila SSS for 4 dollars a box, I would not have responded.

Midway lists it as 'Temporarily unavailable'. Mind you, they're listing everything from CCI as that or 'Out of stock. No backorder.'
Ditto at Grafs.

My local Academy has had the Aquila lately. The yellow boxes trimmed in red and some in blue. Not sure what the difference is. They have had the SSS subsonic 60 grain also at about $6 a box. The other aquila yellow box 40 grain rounds are usually 3.99 or 4.99.

@Evil-Twin

No, this is great. I'm fine driving an hour and paying $11/box for this ammo, so $10 in shipping and a price lower than $11 is just fine. Thanks.

I'm happy I was at least able to help one person...this site is a valuable resource.. I thought that maybe somehow no one saw it.. it shows all available ammo that is " In Stock"... it uses a sophisticated search engine algorithm.

any manufacturer, any caliber. Any load that is available... its also good for finding plinking ammo in stock, by using the sort by price option.

Here is a typical example.. where people say they don't see any CCI 22lr.

CCI Standard Velocity 22 LR 40 GR LRN Box of 50 Rounds cost 4.29 a box, limit 40 boxes a day...

You just had to tell everyone didn't you! :)

I found them today when I was looking for ammo to feed the 22 rifle I have on hold (Waiting on a new driver's license with my current address) I was going to click "buy" but then I thought it was a little odd to buy ammo before I actually owned the gun. Now I might actually have to go ahead on buy them before it is all gone.

I have never " Not " been able to buy ammo... but then I realize that price is not an issue, if I want to shoot. I also know some people who will drive a mile out of their way to save 2 cents on a gallon of gasoline... when you have a good ammo locator like GunBot... availability is not the issue... places like CCI manufacture 28 million round of 22 a week...the trick is to find it...that's what Gunbot does.

I hope this helps people who accept the cost to shoot and can now find the ammo they want..

For the Aguila start with the Aguila website and Where to Buy. Not sure who the actual US importer is now for Aguila but know or think it went through some change a few years ago. Anyway, I would start with the link and make a few phone calls.

Ron

I was kidding of course. I've used GunBot for a few years now and it is a great tool.

I did go back and purchase 10 boxes. With shipping it came out to $0.11 per round. Some think that is expensive, to me it is 1/3 the cost of shooting any of my other guns. The ammo should arrive the same day as I pick up the rifle. (Marlin XT22 in stainless steel.)

Just another thought

It's not as easy to find ammo locally anymore.. So you have to start to rethink your ammo buying habits..... You use to be able to go and buy 2 or 3 boxes locally without issue and shoot them up and then next week go to the same place and buy more.. That's no longer the case..... I shoot a lot of 22, so when I make a purchase on line its usually a case or 5 bricks... I try to keep enough on hand... I don't see the cost of ammo coming down any time soon. so if you buy in large amounts, you are probably saving money from you next purchase.
its also more cost effective when you pay shipping...

The thing I like about GunBot is it shows what's " In Stock ".... some manufacturers will tell you who sells their ammo, but that doesn't mean they will have any... GunBot shows real time availability and cost per round...

Not asking for a specific location - but it might help if you mentioned a state. Reason I say this, is that I've bought cci velocitors within the last 6 months here in OH, but that isn't going to help if you live a few states away. :)

Also not sure if it would be cost effective for shipping if one is only looking for one box (assuming 50 rounds).

No need. I just bought some online. I've been looking all over the Northeast for it at various gun shows and stores for the past year and it may as well be in Jimmy Hoffa's pockets in Al Capone's vault.

Thanks for the offer though.

I just wish I could find the old white box stuff. Winchester Super X I think it was? White Box red lettering. Used to pick up boxes of 525 for a couple of bucks. Haven't seen 22 in the stores in years though

Are you looking for this?

I haven't seen that size in a while, but have seen it in 333 and 555 round quantities.

I wonder if Winchester stopped making the 525 round size.

Looks like it, though the logo looks a bit different, but that might just be my memory. I used to see boxes of that on the shelves, every one of my .22's liked it too, now I'm lucky I can get a small plastic sleeve of CCI. Need to really step up my efforts though, too many .22's not enough time

I bought a Browning Buckmark earlier this year, and they had a coupon to send in and Browning would send gree ammo. They sent that Winchester 555, and I couldn't shoot a magazine full without misfires.

unfortunately as per part of our new package of state gun laws that was passed, internet ammunition sales are now a no go. Have to go to a local brick and mortar so they can do a background check for the ammo sale :banghead:
