Sport45, one of the loads I use in my M29's is the 200gr XTP over 26gs of W296 lit by a F155 primer. Never had any problems with 'em and accuracy has been very good.
Your loads should work fine.
I've never carried two rifles into the field at the same time, but I always take a backup rifle to a hunting camp. Last year the two rifles I took the most were a Rem 700 7mag and a Marlin 1894 44mag.
Last fall I carried a pistol with me each time I went out hunting alone. A 1911 in a...
I've used W748 in my 308's. It meters very well in a powder measure as well as giving good velocity/accuracy. Not sure if it's a cleaner powder than the H335 or H322, but my rifle's barrels clean up easy enough after a range session.
MRB, I recently bedded a synthetic stock on a Remington Model 7. Accra-Gel worked great. Prep work involved using 60 to 100 grit sandpaper to rough up the bedding area. I also drilled a series of holes so the gel would get into them and lock the bedding in place.
Hope this helped some.
I've fired numerous 1911's over the years and last July bought my first one. I always thought I'd end up with a Colt, but ended up getting a S&W 1911 stainless. It has Novak low profile 3-dot sights, Wilson Combat 8 round mags, and has been very reliable and accurate. It's been fed both...
Zragon13 has pretty much summed up a lot of good info on the Galil. And Atblis, you're right about the rediculous prices these things are being sold at. I don't know anyone who's bought one recently either. I got mine in '89.
For what it's worth to the curious, the Galil AR has a...
I have a Galil ARM in 308. Like others have said, it's on the heavy side, but for a 308 that's ok with me. Reliable is it's middle name. The folding stock is the best I've seen or used. This rifle came with two 25 round mags. (An M14 magazine will not work.) Accuracy has been ok, but...
Leupold is my preference. On my PSS in 223 I have the 6.5-20X50 LRT. I like having more magnification on a target rifle than 3-9 or 3.5-10. Makes it a lot easier to see those small 22 caliber bullet holes. Especially if you ever shoot at ranges longer than 100 yards.
Edit: If you get the...
My S&W 1911 came with two Wilson Combat 8 round mags and they've worked flawlesly. Very good build quality, stainless steel, easy to see how many rounds are loaded, inserts into and drops from magazine well with ease. I'm going to get a couple more soon.
