I've seen several of the 2 1/2" 686 7 shot models for sale, and they claim they are scarce, hard to find etc. How scarce are they really, and will the value continue to Increase based on this fact.? It seems alot of sellers out there are claiming "scarce", but are they really?
I have acquired a 1954 Colt det spl with stag grips, that appears to be stainless steel. I have many SS handguns, and the finish is identical to these, although don't think Colt put them out in SS. How can I find out how this gun left the factory to be sure of what I've got? Thanks for any help.
Picked up a beautiful 2 1/2" Ruger Alaskan. It has a nickel finish, and I didn't realize Ruger nickeled these guns...thought they were all SS. Are there any distinguishing marks on the gun to show factory nickeling like S&W with the "N"?
Can anyone verify that the trigger for the sig Sauer P238 also fits the kimber micro 9? I'm wanting to replace my micro 9 trigger with a skeletons trigger. I thought that I had heard that the triggers are the same.
Thanks for your insights. Definitely things to consider when looking at these models. As for BSA1's question about the Texas Ranger set, I have already sold it. There was no real attachment to it just wondering why the local shops viewed it the way they did---now I have an understanding as to why.
What is your guys take on the commemorative guns regarding resale? My local gun shops tell me they are slow movers on resale but I for one don't fully understand why. I had a nearly NIB Texas Ranger set with the knife in a presentation case and I was told it would be "dead inventory" for awhile...
Ok--- I have a craving for a snubby 44 and am looking at a Kodiak backpacker. I will carry it when hiking in Texas and Colorado. Is there anyone out there that will talk me out of this model?
I just picked up a new in the box Beretta Laramie 45 colt. Its a beautiful nickel 6". I'm looking for opinions on handloads for this gun so as not to exceed the guns limits. It is a well made gun but I don't want to go overboard . It will be used for range shooting and showing off. Any opinions?
cva scout pistol
Ok -- I need to know before I buy. Does the CVA SCOUT pistol have interchangeability on barells? I have one on hold at a LGS. We removed the forend and there is a pin just like the tc contender and encore for barell removal but I'm reading elsewhere that they are set up for...
Anybody out there have one of these? I'm intrigued. I love the 357 mag round and can only imagine shooting a 357 auto. Are these as well made as I'm hearing? I looked on GB and there are some on auction ranging from $1200 to over $2200 but not one bid. Is it the caliber that scares them away or...
CVA Scout single shot pistol
I'm looking into the CVA Scout single shot pistol for whitetail this coming year. I thought these pistols were buy one caliber (44 mag,243,357mag etc) and that's all you get. But the adds talk of models with or without the interchangeable barrel system...
I also agree with gwillikers. Clean it somemore. You can polish up all of the friction points under that sideplate-including the rebound slide. Just be careful and don't over do it. This type of clean up can really make a difference.
