None of the above.
I already have utility and what I need, so I buy what I want, but I don’t really take pride in ownership of things and am not a collector.
So I guess … whim. I buy on whim, obsessively researched and plotted and planned whim
Without it you aren’t really comparing the guns at all, just how accurate you happen to be with the gun at that moment.
I can take the exact same two guns to the range on consecutive days and have completely opposite results depending on how I’m feeling at any given moment.
I guess if you ran...
Had an APX centurion. Wonderful feel in the hand and had a good trigger but I just didn’t shoot it well. I had bought it as an alternative to a Glock 19, and just went back to the Glock.
Got it for a steal and sold it for what I had in it, so it was a wash.
If I were making the choice, I’d...
Pretty fancy. I like my VBob a lot, even if it’s plan and getting a little weathered.
Still miss my 9mm Valkyrie a bit, I almost had DW fit a .38 super barrel for it, and kinda wish I had.
Wonder if they still offer that, a number of years back it was only like $130

To me, a gun is a tool. Some tools are really nice looking, really nicely made, or have good history. But they are still tools.
So I don't perscribe to one gun having a "soul" and one other gun not having...
DWX has a usable safety with my thumbs, which is something CZs don’t have.
Was super excited for one but the cz compact grip just doesn’t fit me right, and I didn’t want the full size.
Not optic ready was a minus too
Seems like your preference is clear, so said opinion isn’t surprising.
Certainly can say that the alternate backstrap do change the feel some but the trigger, indeed, is still quite Glockish.
As noted, they fit Glock holsters fine.
I use something similar, but made by Underwood, as my general woods round now that I’m not in grizzly country.
Runs fine in my 1911s, Glock 21 or HK45c so there’s plenty of options.
As to OP, I had a lot of the same questions and options as you did years back and just eventually went with a...
No, it’s not silly to worry about the looks of a gun if that’s something that appeals to you. If you like how it looks, you’re more likely to like it and shoot it, even if only a little bit moreso. End of the day you’re paying good money for it, might as well make sure it’s what you want...
