DWX vs Shadow 2… How much better?

Yes
No...takes P09/P10F mags.

The DWX is cut higher in the trigger guard and beavertail. Has a slightly fatter front and rear frame, better purchase for your hands and fatter section has a more pleasant recoil. Shots faster, flatter and smoother.

It takes 1911 trigger parts, minus the bow and thumb safety.

Flat out wipes the floor with my Springfield Prodigy 2011 and the 2 Staccatos I've shot.

Got mine a week after they finally released them, paid 2K and not one ounce of regret.

Wipes the Floor! I mean, that’s confidence

P10 mags are affordable too!

Well, if you like 1911s more than CZs..yes it is better. :) It's a decent gun, prices seem to be dropping. I think it'd be more popular if it were optic ready out of the box, perhaps why they don't sell very well.

my Shadow 2 was cut by CGW. They did a great job! Was my carry gun for a bit. now my carry gun is a Max380 or a Model 36.

I don’t mine iron sights, anybody can use a redot but learning iron is a skill that I’ve finally learned!

Odd cause the shop I bought mine from can't keep a DWX on the shelf.
The head of operations of DW over on the 1911 forum said, DW can barely meet demand for the DWX.

The DWX was slated for release during 2019, at that time Optic ready pistols weren't a big thing like they are now. By the time it was released, Dec 2022, optics took off. Keith, the head of operations at DW, said redesigning the gun for optics would have flat out killed the product. So they released the DWX and would work on making an OR version.

DWX will be on my 2024 list of must have guns. A short list, I finally have more
range time

That's a helluva carry gun..haha Should look into the S2 compact, although weirdly...it's not on their website at all anymore.

Keep your eyes peeled on this dealer/distributor. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1022276190 They always have stuff priced better than most. A few years back I bought a couple DWs from them well under what the local guys wanted.

Was not too bad to carry with a nylon gun belt. I carried it because I shot it in USPSA and knew it well.

DWX has a usable safety with my thumbs, which is something CZs don’t have.

Was super excited for one but the cz compact grip just doesn’t fit me right, and I didn’t want the full size.

Not optic ready was a minus too

I literally just handled both of them in my friend’s shop and was wondering the same thing, OP. The timing is amazing.

thanks… been looking at them for a bit. I like the look. Then even better, they take 1911 parts .. BIG PLUS!

Negative: they don’t take 75 mags. we had to buy all out +10 mags 2 years ago. But I bet I can shove a 75 mag in there and it would run

Don't need to try.

Well for starters the dwx grip is longer.
The p09 mag is longer than the 75, 19rds vs 17rds.
The cutout for mag release is different.
The p09 mag wider.

Primary machine, CGW, CZ custom have done extensive work on DWX.
