Fire blanks or not during home invasions to deter the criminal?
Okay here we go...hang on for the ride!
I don’t want this to turn into a tactical discussion about “what works best and what doesn’t”. I just wanted to present a question I had been thinking of for quite some time...
When do the Maine CCW permit expire?
Colorado CCW permits last for 5 years before they expire. If Maine is the same way (lasts 5 years) it’s worth getting it now. That way you can choose to carry sooner than later in your 1 year wait should you change your mind.
Now, If Maine permits...
CCW ammo...then to storeage...(consideration)
You bring up a good point Moooose102.
Here is another point to keep in mind. We carry SD ammo loaded in our CCW’s on a daily basis. Some of us unload that ammo and store it depending upon how the situation dictates (range time HP to ball...
Here is something about grains I thought of.
Generally speaking (I my opinion from my past readings on various ammo articles on the internet and opined ammo reports):
115gr= light, fast, reliable expansion and good energy transfer to your human target.
124gr= Heavier and fast, better...
levitating on you nightstand
Well if you see that handgun levitating by itself off of your night stand then you know it was a mistake to get it.........
Glock magazines are marked with the LE/Military only and date stamped 1994. So if a new ban comes ups, and you mags are marked like the Glock mags tou should be okay. I think thats the "grandfather clause"...but not certain.
8 years and still have one in the chamber daily.
Ever think that if your shot and incapacitated that your significant other may have to pick it up your firearm to defend their lives (assuming they were not carrying one of their own). They my not know how to, or that they have to charge it...
You already own a 226 in 9mm
phantomak47 ,
I would say go with the SIG. You already own a SIG 226 in 9mm as you stated, so you will be familiar for you.
Dave
What a wonderful world we live in....
And its only getting worse.
Fear is caused by the unknown. Most gun haters simply are afraid of guns because they never were around them growing up.
In case of the boogy man
I literally fell out of the chair laughing when I read your line where you set it on top of the car just "in case of the boogy man".....:) AND my gun fell out of my holster when I got up.........just kidding.
Good lesson learned story! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Major city vs small towns
One other thing I would like to add is that major inner city police departments are consistently flooded with 911 calls on the weekends.
In Chicago were I grew up I use to hear on the scanner "shots fired" calls go out over the citywide channels. Hours later they...
I was doing some research today and stumbled upon this from the USDOJ website.
I just thought this was interesting. This is why we need to keep fighting for our the second admendment rights.
Look at the "crimes of violence". Only 26.6 percent of the time the officer arrived "whithin 5...
Brinks is NOT a good deterrent
Okay as far as the commercial goes.......what a false sense of security for those who live in restrictive states like DC and Illinois....:barf:.....Please bash lightly..
Brinks, just like the Police Department are “after the fact” organizations who...
Jocko,
You bring up an excellent point that I have been thinking about for so time.
I always wondered that. If I was caught by surprise and a pistol or shotgun were held to my head in a robbery attempt what would I do? I always thought “what can you really do at that moment but...
Quoted by 380awsome above:
"usp9,ya i did,i just cant make a decision ,lol, theres just so many guns, but i can only have one at a time, you know what i mean?"
Sorry .380awsome, based upon what you wrote above I thought you had to get rid of one to own another due to cost.
Actually if you...
