Why would a P99 Bond edition have to be authorized by the British government, as opposed to the owners of the rights to the Bond name or the movie producers?
A Korth semiauto would make a good Bond villain's gun. They cost $4,000 plus each. Can't get much more exotic than that. You can find pics at www.korthusa.com.
GrandmasterB, I really want a gun exactly like yours, it seems to be the best option for competition. I've heard great things about Teddy Jacobson's work. How much did the trigger job cost? How heavy is the DA trigger pull now? I'm wondering if the front sight is a Dawson Precision...
Stephen A. Camp on the STI Trojan 9mm with 6" slide:
"I highly recommend this pistol for anyone wanting to shoot accurately at a distance with a reliable 1911 pistol. STI lists MSRP @ $1232.50, but they can be had for less. I paid around a thousand for this one and don't regret it one penny's...
"7...Focus on the basic mission: the destruction of the terrorists with all the moral, intellectual and practical rigor you can bring to bear. All other issues, from future nation building, to alliance consensus, to humanitarian concerns are secondary."
Oops! The invasion of Iraq violates this.
Lobotomy Boy, www.gunsamerica.com has several new CZ-97Bs advertised for around $510. I hear they can have problems with hollowpoints, though. I love my CZ-75, but it is tempting to try a 1911, especially one in 9mm so I could compare it with my CZ directly.
didn't Ernest Langdon use a P220 stainless to win the Custom Defensive Pistol category of IDPA last year? Beat all the 1911 shooters. I would love to try out a SIG with his trigger job that lowers the pull to 8 lbs DA/4 lbs SA.

I would LOVE to get an MP5 clone in .45 or an HK93 clone, but so many of the clone makers have bad reputatiions. Do a search for SW45 and Special Weapons on www.hkpro.com, lots of information there. If I ever do buy one, I may get an Ohio Rapidfire clone, those seem to have a slightly better...
Knowing only a little about rifle ballistics, I learned a lot from your www.competitonshooting.com site. Some of the Internet ballistics gurus are pushing the 6.8 x 43 cartridge very hard as the best replacement for the 5.56mm. Remington will reportedly be manufacturing the caliber next year...
Tell your friend to look for the reviews of the XD in Gun Tests magazine, www.gun-tests.com. They liked the XD9 and the XD40 a lot. They are like the Consumer Reports of gun magazines, they don't take any adverrtising. They aren't 100% reliable, but are better than the usual gun rag.
Go to a gun show or a range that rents out guns, and hold as many guns as you can. See which one fits your hand the best. Once you buy a gun, go get some training. Good training will pay off for the rest of your shooting life. I think you can find an NRA Basic Pistol instructor at the NRA...
"Or a single-action version of a SIG P220 (or at least one that can be carried cocked & locked like H&K USP series)? "
Now THAT would have been a good idea! I would seriously consider buying one of those.
