"and found the 3 sealing rings on the bolt were turned, so that the slots all lined up."
I was going to mention that since no one else had. From my expiriece (Army Armorer) that is your #1 failure when everything works manually but the rifle short-strokes and won't pull the next round when...
Mine has her own, Ruger M77 in .223 and a Smith K38. She even reloads her own ammo.
She is down-right scary with that 223, she can and does hit clays set out to 300 yards with a 1:1 ratio. Even with the Combat Masterpiece, any pop can, 2 liter bottle, or clay within 50 yards gets bullets...
we played with some AR mag for use in mini's. We tapped metal tabs and drilled holes accordingly. They worked fine, just a pain to and some trail and error. The hardest one to get past and one we never found was the little tab on the follower to hold the bolt on the last round. Over all is...
Small and comfort are trade offs. Get too small it bucks too much in your hand. Too big, it hard to conceal.
You left the most easy to conceal off your list anyway, Kel-Tec PF9 Or find a used SP101 in 9mm
Cleaning rods also kill scorpions, field mice, jack rabbits, and even one yote I know of at the NTC in Death Valley. Don't ask, I won't tell, but I was a young, dumb private once, and plenty bored. ;)
Don't forget Brandon Lee was killed with blanks (I think, too lazy to look it up)
I say...
I have standard on my Bushy Patrolman, it zeroed right in using USGI targets and blasts pop can out to 200 (all the further I shot it). I say don't listen to net rumors till you try it, then, and only then if you expirience issues you know where to go for the fix.
Sure cornman, many of us, like me, do not believe in "Global Warming" in the sense that it is human caused, support the war efforts and feel that we should be there, and am much more afraid of socialism than of what the right-wing leaders have been doing.
More so I think, I use a candidates 2A...

See this thread, follow my directions an your woes will go away. FYI, since it is very difficult to manually cycle, it is NOT the gas system. It may be dirty and need to be cleaned, but it will not cause a round to stick in the chamber...
The boise location is OK. I go there now and then. Thier NIB G17s were a really good deal @ $450 for this area. Thier trade policies are a bit lacking. They told me flat out that I should go elsewhere as they only give 50%. I find thier store to be a bit "tacticool" for my tastes. Don't...
Here is why everyone is saying to clean the chamber...
Some com-block ammo has a lacquer coating. As the rifle heats up, the coating becomes soft and rubs off in the chamber. After several hundred rounds, it will leave a fine coating over the entire chamber. Now, when the rifle cools back...
Wow, you have officially passed a class in the School of Hard Knocks. Gladd to see that you are OK but I will assume it will be a while before you are kicking again. Thank you for being man enough to share your lesson. We all, need reminding every now and then.
Do fibers from the patch hang up in the barrel? If not it is likely not a burr. Oil/carbon/powder fouling all can work thier way into the gas port in the barrel. What do to remove this is to run some bore cleaner into the gas tube from the receiver end and lear it up muzzle end down for a...
I have a pair of 8 round Novak mags that have been 100% in my Colt. I don't carry this gun as it is my plinking gun, but after an unknown (so many I have lost count) number of rounds I have never had a stoppage.
I have been playing with the same setup (Patrolman Carbine) I am running into trouble with the front sight getting in the way (blurry spot in scope) the only thing I can think of is to mount the scope on extra high mounts and use a cheek pad on the M4 stock.
