Within arms reach is my new S&W 340 m&p load with 38spl+p 110 gr hornady critical defense ammunition and with an apex tactical trigger job. If I have to get up, there is a stag arms ar loaded with hornady tap.223, a benelli m2 loaded with winchester ranger 00 buck, and a smith and wesson 1911...
Update to my pics.
This is a pic of my STI 9mm Open Gun built by Randy Lee @ Apex Tactcal.
Here are a couple of current pics of my AR's just because
This is my Stag which I will be using for 3 gun. It has a JP adjustable gas block, Hogue free float tube, Miculek Comp, Badger...
I shoot different stuff for different matches. Here are some of my guns.
These were my Steel Challenge open guns. The Hard Chrome pistol was built by Randy Lee at Apex Tactical. The gun started life as a Springfield TRP and is now a 9mm open gun. The other gun started life as a Doug Koeing...
Thanks for the compliments. Yes, I am asking about the asthetics of the 2 sets of grips. They both feel fine to me, but I am leaning towards the regular wood grips. I think I am liking the more classic look of the wood grips. Most of my guns have hi tech grips of one kind or another so...
Today I picked up a new to me Les Baer Thunder Ranch 1911. This gun is really nice. I cannot believe how tightly fitted it is. I have had some other really nice hand fitted custom 1911's but the Baer has them all beat. The gun is simply beautiful. I cannot wait to get it to the range and...
I have used Blade Teach Holster for years with very good result. I have now switched to G-Code and could not be happier. The G-Code is a couple tenths of a second faster for me than the Blade Tech was. Either holster works really well. But I would seriously consider the G-Code.
Quick update- The match application and some more details are now available on the www.Take-5rimfire.com website. Please let me know if anyone has any questions I can help them with.

The SSP division is pretty much ruled by Glocks, although the M&P is quickly starting to gain ground. If you are new to the sport I would not worry to much about what kind of gun you are shooting. Just come out and have fun. Once you have shot a few matches then you can see what you like and...
After some recent excitement at work, we have decided to start CCW'ing at work again. I have been carrying 1911 and have decided I want something lighter. I have a Keltec p11, but after the front sight fell off at the range 2 days ago I have lost faith in the pistol. I would also like some...
I did not vote as it depends on the match in question.
Steel Challenge, I generally shoot a .22 and .45acp, although I am currently having an open gun built in 9mm.
ICORE. will be .38 special.
Take-5 .22
Local indoor match scored under ICORE scoring, but open to anything I have shot...
I have TacSol Barrels on two diffrent Buckmarks and on 2 diffrent 10/22's. All the barrels are fantastic. I really like their products and wish that the Ruger products could be sold in CA. Also, Tom and Dan are fantastic people and they really support the shooting sports. So, I would highly...
I have a 22/45 Mk III Hunter that I shoot in rimfire competitions and I take it apart all the time. I seriously do not understand why people have so much problems taking these guns apart. It is actually quite simple and only takes about 2 min to take down and maybe twice that to reassemble...
I am trying to develop a new load for the Steel Challange. I am trying to use 230 gr Montana Gold HP's with Clays. The load I loaded for yesterdays monthly Steel Challenge was 3.5gr of clays and the 230gr Montana Golds. It had way more recoil than I would like. I was using 3.5 gr of clays...
My "early warning" system is a 65lb 1/2 Black Lab and 1/2 Australian Shepard mix. He hardly ever barks , but if he does there is definitely someone or something near by. He is a very good dog.
Beyond that I also generally have a Kimber 25th anniversary Custom handy an a Mossberg 500 near by.

+1
I have used the VZ grips and I think they are OK, but the Davidson grips are much better. They really grip your hand better than the VZ's. Everyone that has shot my guns with Davidsons has said that they really like them. I highly recommend them.
