Leupold Customer Service? Anyone able to get a hold of them??

My father in law is old school and a die hard Leupold fan. Well one of his old scopes isn't holding zero anymore. So before he sent it in he attempted to contact them by phone. Once a day, then twice a day and then as many as ten times a day (he's retired) he's called and left messages. No...

Range Report: Shooting Cast 380 bullets in a 38sp

...don't count the one I have labeled as "jerked." No obvious leading in the barrel. I'm going to load some more and take them out to the inlaws house to chrony them, but I'm guessing by the load data they're somewhere between 900-1100fps. Please post your "***'s" and other comments below. :)

Anyone tried SeaFoam on sealed cans?

I run seafoam through small engines often and it really gets the carbon out of the motor. I know the principles are completely different (burning with gas through a combustible engine vs. cleaning a can with it) - but I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried it?

To clean the can or not to clean.

I read a lot of advertisements about "easy cleaning suppressors" and while that's neat and all - I've never cleaned the muffler on my vehicles and those baffles get much dirtier. Thoughts?

Another Data Point - Supressor / Trust / eFiled

Sent in on February 5th and the dealer just notified me that my stamp came through today. 4 months, 10 days by my count.

Bowling Pin Shoots - Speed vs. Power?

I shoot pin shoots just for fun usually with my 44mag. Standard 240g load that I run at the minimum for speed. Recently I bought a 357 and checking over my load books I found a zippy little load for the 357 to push a 110g bullet at 2k+ fps. So that got me thinking about speed vs mass...

    "Kill" gun values...

I had an excellent opportunity to add a 66-1 service revolver to my collection. According to the retired trooper that sold it, the gun has a confirmed kill on it. He told me the story - no reason not to believe him as he wasn't asking anymore for the gun because of it. So the question is -...

    Whoa...

I didn't think you could sell a pistol with a forward grip without it being NFA... http://www.firearms4u.com/guns/specialty/franklin-armory-3036-xo-26b-ar-pistol-ca-appr-sa-5-56-nato-11-5-1rd-black/

    PT and range time

So I hate exercise, gyms suck, running sucks, the only thing I really love is biking and the snow in WI looks like it's here to stay for a long time. Aside from the fact I've put on about 30lbs this winter I can tell I'm just out.of.shape. So today it hits me - I really love hitting the...

    And the wait begins...

eFiled for my YHM Phantom M2... Devin at Reaper Tactical (near Appleton in Wisconsin) hooked me up. According to NFAtracker.com, eFiles to a trust have a 110 day average. We will see!

    Cold weather squibs?!

...halfway through my 100 rounds of reloads every other shot was going pfft instead of bang. It happened 6x, each time I'm checking the barrel to see ***, and the last one squibb'd hard just past the forcing cone. There was unburned powder behind it. So between my safety checks and seeing...

Got my trust setup, now it's time for a couple SBR's...

SBR'ing through my trust two different AR's I have at the same time... and I'm waiting for a Yankee Hill 5.56 to get into the shop so I can do the paperwork on that baby too. In the mean time, I've got a few days to decide on barrel length for the SBR's - so all you NFA guru's, 10.5 or 7.5...

    Draw times - whoa!

So I downloaded a free shot timer for my android phone. I went to the range this morning, it was nice and quiet, nobody else was there so the timer worked great. I also have recently purchased a 11"x 20" torso steel target. I put it out at 20 yards and had the shot timer go off randomly to...

    Stag 3g?

...Colt Competition rifles but after reading some reviews I was turned off. The Stag 3g looks nice - any other models I could be considering? This is going to be *my* rifle, the wife and son can use the other AR's in the safe. I have no real "must haves" other than it can shoot full pressure...

    Fleet Farm Carrying Reloading Supplies

To all my HR buds in the Wisconsin / Iowa / Minnesota areas - Fleet Farm (Mills, not Blaines) now carries reloading supplies! I went into the local store today and WOW - they have quite a bit. Primers were a bit spendy (3.50 for a box of 100) but powder was all in the $20/pound range. And...

    Tannerite Tipped Bullets?

A strange thought popped into my head at work today when I was contemplating an upcoming pin shoot. If I took enough of the two materials that make up Tannerite, and stuffed them into the tip of a hollow point .45 and loaded that into a .460 - would it detonate upon impact of a bowling pin or...

.380 Bullets for .38 Special Load?

I've got a ton of cast .380 that measures .356/102g and a hungry .38 Special revolver that shoots .358 size bullets. What are the thoughts on using a bullet that's .002 small? The revolver is a +p rated with a 2" barrel, so pressure and leading aren't really a concern if I load light. My...

    Argh... .460 squib.

230g .452 cast with 43g of H110 and a LRP. Got five shots off no issue before she pfffffffffffffffft one round half way down the barrel on me. I can't get my hands on any large rifle magnum primers right now OR any other powder besides H110... Anyone else loading for this bad boy?

    True recycling

My son and I recently got into casting. We decided to get our lead by going to the local range and digging some 5 gallon buckets of dirt from the berms. Now I am well aware that you can buy it cheap - but where's the fun in that. Then we washed the rock and sand out and threw the bullets on...

New Guy On The Other Side of the Counter...

Recently I've had the opportunity to pick up a 3rd job at a local FFL - which for me is hardly like work at all. Throughout my life I've always been the customer - now I'm the "moron that knows nothing" handing you that next pistol you may purchase. I can honestly count on one hand the...
