Anyone have any thoughts on either the EOTech line of holographic sights or the Aimpoint sights having a clear advantage over the other?
I originally thought about putting an ACOG on my weapon, but now I'm thinking about going with either an EOTech 553 or an Aimpoint Micro T1 just because I...
Normally I would point my pistol downrange and slightly tilt it to the side to reload, but when I'm shooting I like to be able to keep the pistol on target and do a quick reload....the Glock 21 wouldn't let me do this with the factory mag release.
Ah, Uncle you have fine taste in sidearms.
I think the SA Loaded is going to end up winning my final vote just because it really seems like it would be the best "first" semi auto pistol for me with all the options I want with a price tag that I can afford. The only thing the Springfield Armory...
Viper7342- Are they pretty much a standard 1911 or are they something different entirely?
From what I can see I would imagine that I could swap out pieces and parts on them with standard 1911 parts, but I'm not sure.
Anyone have any insight on the Colt 1991 series pistols?
I'm seeing that they're comparable in price to a nice Springfield Armory......but I know nothing about them.
TXHORNS- Different in a good or bad way?
I'm going out tomorrow or the next day to check out a few pistols....so hopefully after I've handled a few of the suggested arms from everyone on this thread, I'll have a good idea of what I'm going to throw down some cash on.
And just in case everyone...
I'm sure that the idea of posted speed limits and radar guns would have seemed absolutely ridiculous to the folks purchasing Model A Fords back when they were new. The real issue is that if you really feel like the government and government officials would misuse a potentially intrusive...
I don't hate Glocks- at some point I'll probably buy another just because they're so tough and require little maintenance, BUT at this point I'm looking for something in 45 that handles a little better, is a little better balanced than my Glock 21 was, and I'd prefer a weapon with a full metal...
I really like the idea of a new Sig P220 Elite Dark, but I also really like the idea of a 1911.
I know realistically that the chance of running a suppressor on any pistol I own is pretty slim at this point....otherwise I'd be going with the Sig hands down.
Hizzie- After seeing what he did to my weapon the first time......I'd rather just fix it without having him touch it (or any of my other weapons) ever again.
The front sight assembly isn't pressed all the way back, so the muzzle attachment doesn't lock in correctly, the gas tube is fitted so...
I'm really considering a Colt....if I can cough up the cash for one. I'm pretty sure that if I were buying one I'd be looking for an 80 series Government Model.
I've had a similar issue with my Yugo M70 that I bought as a kit and had a local gunsmith put together, only mine does it every 10 to 15 rounds....thinking I need to take a look at that trigger group...
On second inspection the hammer on mine ALWAYS follows the bolt forward if I hold the trigger...
Ah the debate rages on, the truth of the matter is that the use of the rifle is the best determining factor of what cartridge to use for that rifle.
With that being said....
300 whisper/blackout..etc were designed to bring a 7.62 diameter round to the AR platform and still maintain higher...
ET- I've got pretty big hands also, but every time I had to drop a mag in my Glock 21, I had to tilt the weapon slightly sideways to thumb the mag release. I've looked at the M&P line of weapons and have heard a lot of positive things about them too, but still have to find somewhere around here...
I can honestly say that I've never seen one in person nor handled one.
Saw the full size "Pimp Daddy" Gold Plated version in 50AE once, but alas...my need for a gold plated, tiger stripe, 50 cal semi auto handgun has come and gone.
I know IMI makes some pretty interesting weapons...if I can find...
