I was reading the Midway catalog about Wolff gunsprings. They offer a spring kit for pre 1998 j frames. My question is: What happened in 1998 to the j frame that precludes using ehe Wolff spring kit in them?
Does anyone know of any up to date books or websites that detail the complete disassembley of autoloader pistols? I used the search function but didn't find what I was looking for.
Does anyone have experience with the magna trigger? I am considering having it installed on one of my revolvers. What is your opinion on the reliability of the system?
I noticed that the S&WMPc has a "witness" hole at the top of the chamber. This was described as such in a recent gun magazine. The Glock 26 does not have this feature. I am wondering if the true purpose of this small hole is to vent away escaping gas during a case separation aka Kaboom. If so...
In the latest issue of Gun Digest, there is an article about a letter that Kiesler Police Supply sent to Law Enforcement Agencys in Indiana Kentucky and Ohio. They are advising of a "horribly back ordered ammunition" situation. A number of unspecified foreign manufacturers are ceasing U.S. sales...
I was at my SW stocking dealer the other day. They salesman told me that SW is stopping production of the scandium snubbys. He did not know why. Other than the high cost, can anyone shed some light on this?
I was the proud owner of a 1970s vintage S&W Model 37. This is the lightweight Chiefs Special. I bought it when the local police department got rid of their revolvers for semi autos. Recently, it developed a crack in the frame where the barrel screws in. The crack started at the front and ran...
In the latest edition of the Gunlist they had a small article about the MBA Gyrojets current value. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or fired one of these weapons. What were your impressions?
The may 10th issue of Shotgun News has a very interesting article by Jeff Knox with the above title. Basically what it says is if you have ever purchased a weapon from a ffl and the ffl then went out of business, all records from the ffl have been transferred to the ATF and are in their data...
I noticed that DSA has an extended safety lever for the FAL. The lever allows the operator to push it into the fire position without taking the firing hand off of the weapon. Does anyone have this extended lever on their FAL? How does it work? Is it worth the money? Any downside?
I own a kit built FAL. It suffers from light firing pin strikes approximately 10% of the time. I tried three different brands of ammo but all three suffered some light strikes. Any suggestions of what to look for?
If a person was considering purchasing a used firearm from an individual, wouldn't it be convenient to check to see if its been reported as stolen by checking it with your personal computer thru the FBIs web site. What do you think?
I have read about the USAF using an all aluminum revolver in the 50's. I understand that Colt and Smith & Wesson produced them. Would anyone have photos of both or either weapon? I would like to see the markings on them. Thanks.
Today I took my CZ PCR out shooting. I had a problem with the trigger. It appears to have too much of a curve in it. It digs into my trigger finger, causing pain and a blister. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?
