2) why would you not EDC a 9mm revolver-?
As a handloader I've never had any interest in a 9mm revolver.
I can go from mild to wild with 38/357.
From 130grn HSTs at 850fps (2 1/4in SP101) to 1400fps 180grn XTPs ( 6.5in Blackhawk)
.. and everything in between!
Apparently one of the Whitaker's, who is no longer involved with the closed store, and it's owner, is opening a new one.

Last year my LGS had a 3in 856 in the sales case.
Tritium front sight with orange outline.
Light, 6 shots, good barrel length.
I've had bad experiences with Taurus from years back, hadn't touched one since.

Seemed ok.
I started...
The OP is most likely ordering just the sight.
I can't recall exactly how much time it took for mine to be delivered, a week, 10 days.
I ordered the Extreme Duty U notch Pat Riot posted above.
Drops right in, just a screwdriver and Allen wrench is all that's needed.

I have a blued 4in from 1986.
I have a stainless 3in from 2012.
Slight (minor) differences over the years.
The original grips on the 86 are worn, so it got Altamonts years ago.
The 2012 came with Houges, they have sat in the box since the compact grips were delivered not long after purchasing...
I replaced the patridge front sight on my 629 Mountain gun with a Hi Viz.
I didn't bother with the oddball sized punch and pin.
I drilled the stock pin out with a 1/16th inch bit and used a Ruger pin I had.
Pretty simple.
