For a scope this will sound silly but budget is going to be around $300 or less. I think this will be just fine since for a while I'll not be shooting out past 300, but I understand if I step out of my range to real distance $300 glass probably won't be good enough to see clearly.
Well I have a .223 now (AR) but the barrel isn't free floated. Though it is a 20" bull barrel, maybe I should just slap a bipod and scope on it and get out there.
I was probably going to go for TR, preferably 308 over 5.56. The club website said they are suspending F-class for 2017 :uhoh: So I guess I'll have more time to think of a build.
My club started F-class this year and it sounds pretty cool to me, I love the idea and am thinking of getting (building up) a learner rifle. Now I'm talking budget stuff here so I know right of the bat I'll get smoked in competition which is fine, I'm just looking to get in at the bottom and...
Don't forget you can get some good finds in the used market and sometimes score something in your budget that sells new for more. Nothing wrong with used, if you do though just make sure to give it a good once over before buying. When I bought my first handgun I tried several of my friends...
I saw the vid you posted of it, that's a fine weapon. You are pretty lucky fella to get to shoot it off a few times. Love your channel btw, been watching for a while now, keep them going.
As of right now I don't plan on doing any modifications. I had thought about the extended beaver tail mainly due to fear of hammer bite, I have only shot extended safeties so this will be my first "normy" ha! I like the look of it and don't want to change it really. If it bites me thought I'll...
I have finally picked up a 1911! I have wanted one for a long time but am on a strict budget so it took quite a bit of saving and decided effort to not spend that money on other guns that tickled my fancy. I picked up a used Remington R1 at Cabelas the other day and its beautiful if I do say so...
Absolutely you should do it, its totally worth it. I build mine this year (bought an assembled upper) and it was not difficult in the least. Screw screw here, tap tap there done. Plus you will have invested yourself in it, not just your money. It pays to know your gun inside and out and...
I have read and seen videos of folks who have mix-n-mash BP revolvers so yes it can be done. You just want to make sure the lock up work with the cylinder and theres no rubbing or anything like that. Outside of that do what you want man they are your guns, like you I'm not a fan of the gold...
I've got the tech sites ordered and they should be here about the same time as the marlin. I also am getting the sling that appleseed sells on their site, no 1907 one for me, not on this rifle i will probably pick one up for my AR sometime later though.
I have been wanting to attend an appleseed shoot since I first read about one a few years ago and finally am going in August. I bought a new Marlin 795(because why not get a new gun:D ) and have all the pieces coming to make it into a LTR. Going to pick up some elbow pads and a heavy duty...
Well son, you ain't got no lug fer yer pig sticker!
Looks good so far, I've always like the dark earth as well and am considering it for my next build. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Got some range time in Friday and man it shot great. I zeroed at 25 yrds and the two pics are the first groups at 50yrds after zeroing. After what i thought was some successful shooting at 50yrds (best I have ever done with irons with any rifle) I spent the remainder of my time working at...
Finally finished my AR build after a year of saving and buying it one piece at a time. I am sure some of you may not agree with some of the pieces I chose but I am happy with what I have. I also understand what I need to upgrade in the future if I choose to do so. Having never done this kind...
