1911 without question.
But, I think that there are a great deal of excellent weapons made right now. It just seems as if Browning's design is getting a resurgence...
Don't forget that movement, use of the barricade, reloads behind cover, and reloads with retention are going to add time as well.
I sure wish I could shoot it under 175! I'm not a speed demon...:D
I doubt it. As stated above, the folks in Arkansas won't want the sport to become IPSC-lite.
I would like to see 8-round revolvers shoot in CDP (.357, 10mm, and the like). Wouldn't that be cool?
Well, I found something out today...
I shoot low. I mean really, really low.
I was shooting great groups, just low.
I have been doing this ever since I went back to the Glock, and I think my sight picture has changed a bit.
I'm going to seek professional help and see if it's me or...
Anyone going to the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation's Norco shoot on April 3rd-4th?
I am!
A chance (small though it is) to win a new Glock? I'm SO there!
Congratulations!
When you do shoot the qualifier, concentrate on the 3rd stage and smack the Master's level around. You will leave the others in your wake.
[As the masters I shoot with always leave me! ;-) ]
Save up another $150.00 and buy the S&W 1911. After all, it was Guns and Ammo's Gun of the Year for 2003.
I own one, and I've only got great things to say about it.
Oh yeah, and the external extractor and full rod are nice too.
But, that's only if you can stomach the wait and bite the...
Man! It was a real blast to shoot with some forum members today! I really enjoyed watching our very own master of the uber-tactical; Skunkabilly!
It was good to know that we had safe and fun shooting, and no one embarrassed themselves. I can't wait to shoot the classifiers for CDP and SSR...
Well, let me think... I suppose I would be considered one of the "jelly bellies." I am about 6'7" and around 500 lbs. I do not move quite as fast as some of the other competitors but then again, I shoot as fast as I need to hit the targets and not the hostages/no-shoots/friendlies.
It...
I reckon I'm a Hogue man...
Hogue sleeve on the Glock 17,
Hogue grip on the S&W .357
Hogue panels on the S&W 1911 (those were stock with the gun)
I find that the Hogue grips let me "get a hold of" the pistol regardless of sweat, cold or heat, gloves or bare hands. And, since...
I'd make certain to bring more than enough ammo. Winchester White Box is a nice, inexpensive way to keep pace. Not as cheap as reloading, but better than buying the high-end stuff, and easier to find than Sellier & Bellot and the like.
Most important advice: Be safe and have fun! (in that...
