I must agree with blackops with the 7mm WSM. Never hear about it and is a very impressive round. I do not personally have one, but a friend shoots it in a Savage. Very impressive.

I'm loading some 40 S&W lead loads for the first time with HS-6 and I have not been able to find a load with HS-6. I'm going to load a GAT roundnose bullet 180 grain, .401 diameter and lubed. I'm not sure about the hardness, but a box of .38 SWC had a hardness of 18 on it so I wouldn't think it...
I've tried powders, seating depth, different cases, primer combinations, etc. I had alot of remington 150gr core lokts and used them as fouling rounds, his gun didn't like them either, but never the 165's. I told him to pick up the 165's just because his gun didn't like the 150's and I've never...
Hello everybody,
I was wandering if anyone knows what powder remington uses in their .30-06 165gr core lokts. I have been trying to work up a good load in my friends savage 110 for a couple of season now and have gotten only decent grouping, nothing great. I've tried 4350, 4895, 414, 380...
Hey guys, What is the name of the place where they have the big machine gun shooting festival every year? I can't think of it to save my soul.
Thanks vince
Hello everyone,
A howa trigger states to be adjustable. Can you take up the creep without decreasing pull weight much? This gun is for a 9 year old and break right at 4-3/4 lbs with no over travel but the creep is extensive. I felt as though I watched platoon while pulling the trigger...
I love helping anyone's child, but sometime its very difficult. Its a new project for every child to fit their needs, different calibers, guns. I think that's why I like it so much. With all the children that we have all helped, you would think the information would be flowing and its not...
Thanks for the input everyone. Its so difficult to get the kids what they need to enjoy our sport especially when we need them to continue on. Finding a recoil pad has been just as much work. It seems it should be easier.

ArchAngelcd,
Where did you get that data. I couldn't seem to find it ? I found where it stated 60% reduction from maximum of H4895. I tried to contact Hodgdon concerning IMR 4895 and no one answered. I'll try again today. My question then is why does Hodgdon list 35.2 (130 gr) and 35.6 (120...
Hey guys I didn't know anybody better to turn to than you! I was asked to work up a load for a 9 year old boy that just received his new Howa 7mm-08 youth 20" barrel. He is a little fella and we're going to try and cut the stock way down and try to fit a limbsaver pad on it for him. I didn't...
Hello, I have a remington 7400 that just started jamming after every shot. The gun is clean. It jams no matter which clip I use and no matter which ammo I use. I am shooting factory ammunition. I could use some advise/options as to causes or fixes.
Thanks Vince
Isn't it funny how its all unfair to anti's, like Rossie O., until someone threatens her life and amazingly and instantaniously she has 5 or so armed body gaurds protecting her. She just had to pick up the phone for her hunters. We have to train all year.
Thanks
I will be using my 45-70 as a hunting round with most long shots around 160 yards. I think I'll try the 4198 like I planned. Thanks for the imput. I'm going to have to try the black powder as well. I'll probrably enjoy it alot.

I'm getting an H&R 45-70 to hunt in Mississippi instead of my muzzleloader. I like roundnose bullets and am settling on Hornady 350gr RN. I use alot of Hodgdon powder and thought about H4198. Any comments or suggestions?
Vince
thanks
Chris that helped. I had to pull the pin under the trigger assembly to remove the bolt. The saftey will not move and that helped me understand the mechanism better. The trigger mechanism appears to be mauser style which I'm somewhat familiar, but I'm no gunsmith
