The k31 and it's mates, the 1911, k11, PE57 and the rare (in the US) zfk55 Swiss Sniper Rifle are a rarity in another category. A Military series of rifles designed around a specific cartridge, projectile weight and profile for unusual accuracy and performance in an issue military rifle. The...
Tried a lot of different profiles over the years, but the closest to the GP11 projectile is the Berger VLD 175. The GP11 is a 174gr. Next best I've found is the SMK175, and it's truly a great projectile to work with.
I have maybe 2,000 of the Bergers here, but.......... I also bought them...
I had an agreement at one time on this but the time and term are long past. This is the data on the Swiss RUAG commercial rounds when they stopped selling match brass to the US.
And Blei means "lead".
Forgot to mention............ RUAG owns Norma.
GP11 is used in Swiss matches worldwide and is literally considered match ammunition.
I've made a very long study of the cartridge and was able to secure nearly 2,000 of the original RUAG GP11 brass back in the 90's.
My (then) partner and I brought in the first reloadable brass direct from...
And, Tark........ I'll offer an apology for my demeanor. My Son just reminded me of where I am and my vow to remain reasonable during this damned diet.
I was told I was too old to do it, but I insisted so I'm bound to live with the side effects and status quo until it's over in another week...
Ok, Tark. One last word from me and then the field is yours. Vietnam vet? So am I, but I don't throw it out there as some sort of qualifier.
The "Op-Rod" is a widely accepted English term for the "riegel", and because the bolt handle isn't attached to the bolt, it is in fact the rod that...
Did you two even bother to read my post?? Did I say anything about gentle? So, slamming that bolt in and out of battery is your idea of how it should function, right?
Ridiculous scenario? Just how much historic inside information on the Swiss armory repair and replacement end of things do you...
New k31s may be purchased from Haemmerli in 7.5x55, .308, 30-06 and 300 Winmag. That tells you something about the receiver.
Elmig/Greuniger makes competition rifles in 7.5x55..... and of course, Blaser.
Forgot to mention that any .308 cartridge generates more pressure than the 7.5x55
...The AR10 is done the same way but just grip the bolt handle like you're extracting a cartridge and pull down hard while striking the butt on the ground.
Don't do this on concrete for obvious reasons.

I got lucky in the past few years. Mine were a zfk55 Swiss Sniper, an honest to gosh 90 PE non-import original army issue, an original army issue P49 and a Beretta 93R.
First dream realized, the zfk55.
Second realized, the 90PE.
The third, an original issue Sig...
My entire shooting life (55 years) I was always conscious of the need for hearing protection with firearms, but.......... Using a hearing aid, I now have 85% hearing in my left ear and 10% in my right ear. I was stupid enough not to equate DB's from firearms to the recording studio control room...
If you need a name and logo, this is one we did for a Mom/Pop shop. They got into a huge argument before opening and ditched the whole thing, but they paid for this early on. Therefore, it's a free one. Email me if you want it and it's yours. The shop name can be easily changed. Either way...
