call your local PD and ask them what they use.
that way when you have to shoot someone they can't say you were using "super fancy expanding man killer hollow point choir kid life ruiners". You were using what the cops use.
if it slides, grease it, if it pivots, oil it.
oh, and mobil 1 is designed for an engine, not a pistol. it is designed to be an immersion lubricant. otherwise your engine wouldn't seize up if you drain the oil out.
i own 2 Sig's...
next to shooting them, my favorite thing to do is let glock/xd owners shoot it... and then watching them cry when they have to give it back =)
1) probably
2) no, not even close
3) maybe, if you make 1,000,000 guns and 99.9999% are perfectly flawless, there's still 1 that will crack. bad stories are told, great experiences are not.
i own 2 sigs... 229R elite and 239 and they are nothing but fantastic. the fit and finish is top notch and i've put 1000 rds thru the 2 of them so far without a single problem...
i wouldn't think twice about buying a sig 1911 cco
edit- and for what its worth, you hear far more often about...
No weapons clause where I work, so I'd be surely fired. Plus, I work for a major beverage company, and it's full of whiny liberals, so I don't doubt not only would I be fired, but they would surely overreact and make it sound like an active shooter was running around the facility where in turn...
i like the aerosol can stuff too, but it's expensive. I figured it might be more feasible to buy a gallon or two of CLP and put it in a air gun.
also, it doesn't necessarily have to be an atomizing air brush, i'm sure you can get different nozzle tips for a tighter spray...
i went into pistols with a pretty opened mind and have had the opportunity to shoot a bunch of different kinds, but for some reason I now own 2 sigs.. 229 elite in .40 and 239 in 9mm.
I definitely did not intend that, but they are just such awesome pieces of hardware.
