Perfect information. Thanks guys. I was wondering about the ease of swinging being a safety issue and with firsthand feedback, I'm gonna pass. I too will end up hunting in deep snow and have to walk through thick brush.
As for the Montana sling. What is special about it vs anything else. I ask...
Anyone ever use one of these for hunting? I just picked up a new 7mm mag.

I carry a 7mm mag...
Thanks even more.
@Damon555 - As far as re-stocking goes and if it is not real obvious, I'm ignorant to it. I was once told that to re-stock a rifle one had to do something called bedding on it. The explanation given to me sounded like a lot of work. That's what I meant when I said "too much...
I'm not re-stocking anything. Too much work. For some reason I had it in my head that the synthetic stock was lighter. Might have to re-think this now. My current gun kills my shoulders walking around the mountains looking for elk.
It was the price that got me all worked up. I figured it was a...
I have a buddy that will part for this combo in a 7mag for $550. Seems like a good price so I figured I'd run it by y'all.
He says he bought it and didn't like shooting it. I'd like to shoot it at a big old fat cow elk. I currently carry a wood stock Savage 7mag and it's heavy as hell. I'm...
$10-15 seems OK for new stuff. These are definitely starting bid prices but if they could be had at that it sure seems cheaper than Midway.
But having to ask the questions about product # and stuff is a hassle.
I have the manual, just haven't read it yet. I don't plan on doing any reloading for a while but while I was sitting here looking at some stuff on eBay I figured I'd give a gander to the prices for dies which led me to these questions.
What is BAR?
awesome, thanks woodchuck.
Sorry, but now more questions.
I have a 7mm Rem Mag bolt action rifle. I was just looking at the RCBS web site and they list 3 sets of dies.
Full Length (13601), Neck Die Set (13602) and Small Base Die Set (13603).
What the heck is that third set and which...
I've been looking at eBay for reloading dies and I find some labeled "Full Length".
What does that mean? Are there 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 length and how do I know what length I need?
Plus, I was looking at some 30-06 dies and one guy labeled his "30-06 government caliber."
I thought 30-06...
thanks guys, that's all I'm asking for, many opinions.
that way I can develop my own.
I think I'm readin y'all fine.
honestly, I get the old skoo opinion . . . One At A Time
But I'm beyond all that now and time is a premium.
But I have two boys. I'll teach them how to work the...
I believe it has everything (no dies though.) It had everything in the RCBS Rockchucker Supreme Kit that you can find everywhere. I'm not even a beginner yet so I'm gonna go by that and the guy I bought it from told me that was everything.
OK then, maybe I'm now getting it. With the RCBS...
ranger, not followin ya. You're upset that you've owned an RC for 20 years. If so, then why haven't you changed? That's a long time to be upset.
---------------------------------
As for what I'll be reloading, rifle and pistol. I have 9mm Ruger and .357 mag handguns and 7mm mag, 30-06, .270...
I just purchased a used Rockchucker reload kit with some extras. All in all I got about $500-600 in retail prices worth of stuff for $300.
Now I find out about this Hornady Lock-N-Load AP deal that costs $377 and with it I could pump out rounds like crazy for a meer $77 bucks more.
This...
Bought the kit. It came with everything in that Rockchucker kit (retail $300-350), the gun rest (retail $100) a set of .308 dies ($30-40?) and a few other items that seem to each retail for around $50. So when I add it up it seems like around $500-600 worth of equipment at retail prices. I paid...
