I had one, enjoyed, sold it. I think its best used as a trainer. I really like how it looked and felt and the adjustable trigger was a really nice feature. I was getting into rimfire bench competition (ARA) and it just wasn't as tight as I wanted. I ended up with a CZ varmint and am very, very...
Yes, this! I have the full size M&P and had burwell do a trigger job for Production class uspsa. Its a wonderful shooter. It was an early M&P with rust issue so also had the slide hard chromed, so now it also a really good looking gun that is my zombie/shtf firearm.
I've carried with this for years and love it. My Hellcat fits perfectly in the smaller pouch. They have two interior compartments. The firearm sits behind a velcro compartment and the main compartment is the place for wallet etc. There is a tab that sticks up that allows for quick access. The...
I found it overly abrasive too. I used hockey stick tape on my Hellcat and it feels great now. A super cheap fix and I think it improved the overall feel.
Life span is measured in the high 10s of thousands of rounds. Shooting uspsa I put through 5k rounds a year, shot for six years with that gun; replaced an extractor and springs. I don't shoot uspsa now but the gun still shoots competition accurate...and smooth as silk. Check back in 20 years...
I've been attempting to contact Tru-Ivory Bar/S/Grips for over three weeks now and have had no replies to emails or phone calls. Does anyone know if they are still in business or take some time off in the summer? I really like their ivory substitute but I'm losing hope I want to do business with...
Its a keeper
Just shot my new Shield and I have to say I feel like I have a combat oriented weapon in a very concealable package. I shot IPSC for several years and feel like I could enjoy a shoot with a Shield, wouldn't necessarily be competitive but would enjoy it and except for power factor...
Waiting for my Winchester M70 Featherweight in 30-06 to arrive and just ordered the Leupold double dovetail bases to mount a Leupold VX-2 3-9X40. I went with the 3-9X40, as opposed to the 2.5-8X36 because I really want a clean looking mount with nothing hanging over the ejection port or...
Thanks OldBrownDog,
That's like a junkies fix for sure! I love the size of the 36 and yes its for hunting, mostly Southern whitetails and hogs. For a hundred extra bucks I get a current VX-3 for the life of the rifle. In my mind there is something iconic about Winchesters, wood, and leupolds.
Old Brown Dog, I would love to see a pic of your set up. For a 100 bucks more I could get into the VX-3 8x36 and I'm quite intrigued by this. I'll bet the smaller profile looks great on the featherweight. The 4mm difference between the 36 and 40 lens is another $100. How much does it matter in...
Hello everyone,
I just purchased a Win. M70 Featherweight Grade III, in 30-06 that will ship in a few days. My question is about how different "grade III" wood is from non-grade III or from "super grade." When I search for grade 3 it seems all I get are super-grade pics. What can you tell me...
Thanks so much for all of the responses. Love every firearm pic you all posted!
Thanks Gtscotty!...I just purchased that Bud's grade III featherweight! Can't wait for it to arrive. I'll post pics of it coming out of the box!
Thanks again everyone, I'll be posting another Win. related...
I went to a dealer today to put money down on a Model 70 Featherwieght, 30-06 and there were none available, this from a major national distributor. I have read that Win. is now making the M70 in South Carolina. Is that a very recent event in the life of Winchester? Has there just not been...
So other than barrel contour all M70s share the same inletting? The stock doesn't have to be a featherweight as long as its walnut and has the Schnabel for-end.
I want a Win. M70 short action, 22" barrel, in stainless but I also want the model 70 wood stock. Since they don't sell it that way, which stainless model 70s would fit the factory FEATHERWEIGHT Short Action Sporter Rifle Stock?
Would the m70 Extreme Weather SS, Ultimate Shadow SS, or Shadow...
The problem is that I have always wanted a rifle in 260 Remington. When I was first getting into hunting, a long time ago, Remington had a mountain rifle in 260. I thought it was one of the most beautiful rifles ever. Well, I ended up with a 30-06 700 instead for all the right reasons and have...
