The Best State For Gun Owners

Direct quote from Giffords website (Yes, that Gabbie Giffords) : "The data is clear: states with stronger gun laws have less gun violence. See how your state compares in our annual ranking." Actually the website should state "our propaganda is clear: states with stronger gun laws have less gun...

Biden to announce executive order on gun sale background checks

"President Biden has taken more executive action to reduce gun violence than any other president at this point in their presidency."

    P365 Spring Replacement

The RSA is a critical component in reliability and relatively cheap. I have spare RSA's for my P365 and 365XL. Also keep track of round counts. Supply issues aside, if a problem develops the spares can keep the gun going with minimal down time.

LCP Max is bigger than original LCP

Those that have an original LCP the Mitch Rosen Express El Raton holster is excellent: minimal printing, secure and holster does not come out of pocket when drawing weapon. Shown with a Kahr - the LCP version is similar in design but much smaller. Not sure if the LCP Max version is available.

Do you own a 2nd or 3rd copy of your EDC?

I currently have three versions of my EDC and HD handguns: Sig P365, Sig 365X and Sig 365XL. Each one serves a different function/need. Train equally with each one since they are dimensionally different. To me the biggest advantage of having the 365 series is the modularity and in the event one...

    Stock For HD Shotgun

The LOP on the Hogue stock on the Maverick is "fine" for me and home defense purposes. Have no intention of using the 88 for clays, trap or skeet. Have a K80 Unsingle with a custom stock for trap.

    Mouse Gun Carry

When the need to pocket carry a mouse gun (Ruger LCP) I've been using a Mitch Rosen El Raton Express pocket holster for the last ten years. Definitely not cheap but it has held up for 10 years and barely shows any signs of wear. My preferred pocket carry is a Sig P365 with manual safety. Been...

    Stock For HD Shotgun

The stock finally came in yesterday. After a quick install the overall length/LOP is fine. Looking forward to some range time next week. Thanks again for all the info and suggestions.

    Stock For HD Shotgun

I appreciate all the responses and advice. Decided to go with a traditional stock and ordered the Hogue over-molded synthetic stock (had to wait a while on a backorder). The AR style stock looked good and liked the adjustability but I'm more familiar with a traditional style stock.

Earmuffs and Ear Plugs worn together

Been wearing both custom molded ear plugs and ear muffs for indoor shooting since the 90's. Recently found some narrow ear muffs with good protection levels that don't interfere when shooting rifles. When I shoot trap I just wear the custom molded ear plugs.

    Stock For HD Shotgun

Will check the Magpul SGA. Not sure if it fits a Maverick 88.

    Stock For HD Shotgun

The Hogue has a decent recoil pad and the grip area is "rubberized". My old shoulder and wrists need all the help they can get.

    Stock For HD Shotgun

JAshley73 the stock is for a Maverick 88 12 gauge 18.5" barrel. If I go with a traditional stock it will probably be the Hogue Synthetic Overmolded model with a 14.25 LOP.

    Stock For HD Shotgun

12Bravo20 thanks for the info. I haven't considered a birds head grip. Definitely check it out.

    Stock For HD Shotgun

Jeeper Creeper thanks for the info. Certainly something to take into consideration. The PG and the AR style stock (in it's closed/short configuration) initially seems like a good way to go for mobility inside the home. The more I think about it, after 35 years of clearing buildings, businesses...

    Stock For HD Shotgun

1K thanks for the info. The PG was fine when I was younger but shooting 12 gauge 00 buck is a little hard on the wrist/hand now days. I do a lot of AR training and that was the main reason considering the AR style stock. I do have one concern with the AR style shotgun stock. The buffer tube is...

    Stock For HD Shotgun

My HD shotgun currently has a pistol grip on it and am looking to change to a stock. Narrowed it down to two different types. A traditional style stock with a rubber pistol grip area or a AR style folding type. Does anyone have any experience with the AR style on a 12 gauge HD shotgun? Which one...

Illinois House passes assault-weapons ban after Highland Park shooting

Illinois and Cook County have some of the most stringent gun laws in the country. How's that working out? I left Illinois 17 years ago and will never move back. I feel bad for family, friends and law-abiding citizens in that state.

Sig P365 Series Flat vs Curved Trigger

Currently have three Sig 365's: P365, 365X and 365XL. The X and XL have the flat trigger and the P has the curved. Of the two I prefer the flat triggers on the X and XL. At the range I can barely tell the difference. I have a flat trigger in the parts bin but really not in any hurry to change...
