NREA joins with CRPA to sue California

The problem with most of these lawsuits is that they don't show their legal argument. As we have seen in the past the government can freely restrict the sale of guns and ammo up until a judge says you have gone too far and you are now infringing on the rights stated in the second amendment. In...

Once in a lifetime at the range today

I shot 25 clean at skeet with the guys from work. We all went to the clubhouse and then I made a lame excuse and left. It wasn't going to get any better...

Trying to decide if I should sell a couple guns for money and space in the safe-how m

I have a few years under my belt. IMHO, never sell a gun UNLESS you really hate it. I have sold very few guns.

Another loss in court - will we lose the right to standard capacity magazines?

Not a huge deal in California. Large cap mags were grandfathered but you cannot buy new large caps. So you could only keep hi-caps if you owned them before the law changed.

Is it just me, am I paranoid?

Don't go to big cities. Nothing good comes out of them.

What is the best 12 gauge round for HD

I'll add to the fun. High base buckshot loads are a solid load with a lot of recoil. It will get the job done and a little bit more. I'm not too keen on the giant blast these loads produce. For distances inside the house any load is going to be one solid clump of lead pellets, it takes a few...

    Live round stuck in breech

All you need is a light tap, tap, tap to get the bolt to open. Put more force on it than that and it's just going to pull the rim off. There is no need to go ape on a gun unless you are at war and you have no other options.

    Handtrucks to the range?

I use a Radio Flyer wagon. Pulls easy and goes through most terrain well.

The Remarkable Number of Factors Impacting Gun Prices

I didn't read all the posts but I think the biggest cost increase is on the retail side not the manufacturing side. The cost of doing business is skyrocketing. More paper work, permits, training, fewer FFLs, etc. are driving retail expenses off the scale.

    I hate Brass Rats,,,

On the other hand...I went to my local range, there was only one guy there. He had his brass spread out six ways from Sunday. I was shooting at the other end of the range and when I went to get the brass mower, he got all indignant and told me not to gather his brass. I was just trying to clean...

Inspecting the Bore of a Brand New Gun?

Always clean a new gun. Then the bore gets "dry patched" before the gun is shot.

    Ruger: 2,000,000 orders on backlog

Ruger has a very diverse product line and they are continuing to introduce new models all the time. It will be a long while before they will be able to catch up and have all model lines delivered.

Best or most accurate bulk 22LR ammo.

Most rifles like standard velocity ammo for best accuracy. My first choices would be Eley Sport, CCI std or Remington subsonic.

    Arizonans for Gun Safety

Ask if the support the Eddie Eagle safety program. Then ask how they have supported the program in Arizona. (pretty sure they don't and wont, they want you guns, they don't care one wit about safety).

The AHSA Trolls are Out in Force

Sorry, you really don't know much about ARs. AR service rifles are shot in competition at up to 1000 yards. the AR in AR-15 stands for Armalite Rifle, the patent holders at the time the rifle was designed.

3-D Printed Gun Only Lasts 6 Shots

I worked in rapid prototyping for a major aerospace company. There are many ways to make parts using polymers and powdered materials using some kind of rapid prototyping process. It's not a big deal. What the story is missing, is facts. From what I could see they made a polymer AR15 lower using...

“Natural” skill and your limiting factor to becoming a better shot?

Can a jockey be a football lineman? The obvious answer is no, not everybody can be what they want or achieve the level of proficiency they want. There are people that excel at certain tasks. Do all the Little League kids make the major league? How about triple A ball players, they have the...

Does anyone NOT own a shotgun?

Get a nice sporting shotgun and shoot some clay birds. Short, defense shotguns are not much fun once you blasted them a few times. On the other hand I have thousands of rounds through my 870 trap gun.
