Sling swivel set for lever gun!

I am wanting to put a sling on my Rossi .357 16in lever rifle. Looking for suggestions as to what brand/kind of swivel set to get. Checked on-line for some, but have no idea as to the size of the magazine tube. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Question to LEOs: Shotgun or AR15 for you?

Retired in 2008, but was issued an AR a couple of years before I left. I was issued a used, but cherry, M-16 with full auto, the style A2 with the old sights and triangle forearm. Only used the full auto to show the young pups what it was like to go rock n roll. After I was issued that...

    So many snubbies!

Bought a set of the Pro Comp Grips, as seen on the M60, for my M&P340. Very nice grips. Not as concealable, but gives ya a good handful of grip. Put my silver/black Altamont boot grips on when I want concealability. Gotta love all them snubbies!!!

    642 Club Part Three

I put the Apex Carry/Duty Spring kit in my M&P340, and love it. Don't have a pull device, but it feels around 10-11 pounds. Still heavy enough for reliable ignition. Also lightly stoned the rebound slide while it was out, and several hundred dry-fires.

    M&p 340

DAdams: I was also thinking about getting a SERPA for my 340, left handed of course, but the website said that it would not work for the .357 j-frames. I'm not sure what the difference is other than the shrouded barrel, and would think it would fit. You or any one else out there know for sure?

    642 Club Part Three

Tony the tiger: Been thinking about getting a set of the Altamonts for my j-frame. Can ya tell me a little about them as far as fit/finish, speedloader clearance and feel. I have never had the chance to handle a set, and assume you relly like yours. Been thinking about a set of the...

    Trading my Glock 19!!!

I am about do the unthinkable...trade my Glock 19 for a S&W M&P9c!!! My wife just recently purchased one, I took her out to break it in, fired it and absolutely fell in love with it. Never shot an M&P before, had Sigs as an LEO, and Glocks after retiring. Loaded weight is the same as the...

Speed Loader Snags on Grips (S&W 60)

Had a set of those grips on a j-frame I had, and speedloaders would not fit either. I have yet to find a stock pair of Smith grips that allows speedloaders to work. You might try a pair of Hogue Monogrips. They are about the same size and shape as the Smith grips, but allow use of the...

are patrol carbines and tazers phasing out shotguns in law enforcement?

I attended my former department's firearms qualification last year for my LEOSA certification. After the qualification, one of the instructors showed the result of a test he conducted on several sheets of wallboard, placed a few inches behind one another. The issued 9mm, 00 Buck and slugs...

    Best Gun Lubricant?

Lucas Gun oil is pretty good, and doesn't burn off too quick. An LEO friend of mine advised me of a mix that his department, and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy rifle instructors use. It is a 2:1 mix of Mobil 1 20w50 synthetic oil, and Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid. Works very well.

Looking for a new 9mm carry load.

When we transitioned to 9mm handguns "back in the days", the best round available at the time was the Federal 9BP, 115gr hollowpoint. Better rounds available now, but it is still a good standard pressure round, and can be found at a reasonable price.

    Conceal Carry: Glock or J-frame

Owned both, and loved them. Traded the 26 for a Glock 19. The 26 is not a pocket gun, but great for OWB/IWB carry. Still have a j-frame for pocket carry. Might I suggest a 3rd option? The Ruger LC9 is right in-between the two you are looking at, size wise. Just a tad big for pocket carry...

    Pick only 3 pistols

Glock 19...if you have to ask, you don't understand S&W M&P340...just love those J-frames, great to carry when the 19 is too big Ruger LCP...great carry piece when the above are too big

In Depth Study of Gun Lubricants?

Funny you should mention the Mobil 20-50. I was talking last month to a LEO friend in my town about my new AR-15. I asked him what he uses to lube his, and he advised his department uses a 2:1 mix of the Mobil V-Twin 20-50 and Mobil 1 full synthetic transmission fluid. Apparently the rifle...

Replace my S&W 642 with LCP???

I have both a LCP and a M&P 340, and absolutely love both. Don't know why, but I find myself carrying the LCP more. Do yearly LEOSA quals, along with my Glock 19, with both weapons. Each are a little tough at 25 yards, but it can be done, but not pretty!! Easy for me to say save up and buy...

    Opinions on kimber solo carry.

American Rifleman had a write-up in this month's issue. Gun looks nice, but do I really want to spend that kind of money on a gun that is "required" to shoot premium ammo, and not 115gr for practice? If I have one, I want to shoot it alot, but the factory says you need to replace the recoil...
