    This Makes You Think

Kind of humorous, but has a true life lesson at the same time. I thought it was entertaining though... http://www.shof.msrcsites.co.uk/rs.html

    Old S&W I.D. Help

Well, sounds like it is a nice one. There are more experienced posters that will give you a better idea on the current market price. As far as "Book" price as new in box = $1750 , Excellent = $500 and on down. Book prices aren't always concrete prices but they will give you an idea. Sounds like...

    Old S&W I.D. Help

    New to Gun Ownership

Honestly, don't bother with a 9mm. If you buy one like I did, you will then wish you had a .45 and buy one like I did. Go right for the .45ACP, they come in all shapes and sizes for any situation..

Did something happen to make you CCW?

Good question, the 2 main reasons I started are the economy and I watched the documentary: When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts about hurricane Katrina. I didn't want that happening to my family if something like that happened where I live. I saw what happens to people when they totally...

    I'm About To Give Up

Well after all of my complaining, it was the sights. I took it out and adjusted the sights and like magic, I'm shooting decent patterns and where I'm actually aiming. Still have to work on my DA - hitting high but now at least everything seems to be in groups. Thanks again all for feedback!

    Got my CWP Today -FL

Woohoo! Only took maybe 4 -6 weeks. They send an informative pamphlet as well. I didn't realize the permit is good in 33 states - that's cool. Thanks Charles Bronson! Now if I could just travel to get my guns into those other states - that would be wonderful!

    I'm About To Give Up

almostfree - yes my grip position is OK. One of the RO at the range is an NRA instructor and he said my grip was good, high on the grip. I really think it is the trigger pull mainly. This gun was like new when I bought it - barely fired, so I'm thinking being 25+ years old without much use, the...

    I'm About To Give Up

Thanks for all of the words of encouragement everyone, I think that is what I needed. I really love the gun, it fits my hand well and the weight is perfect (it's the 2.5" barrel BTW). I really try to identify what I am doing wrong, I'm always thinking about keeping on the target through the shot...

    I'm About To Give Up

Well, I took my 19-4 out again today. I am not improving. The accuracy just isn't there. It's fun shooting a powerful 357 mag but as far as using it for anything else, I'm just not accurate enough with it. Now my XD, I can shoot the center out of the target at 10 yards but the revolver just...

    Need Some Ammo?

Just wanted to pass on this link for those looking for decent ammo at good prices. I have ordered from them recently and everything shipped fine with no problems. Just trying to throw a bone to my fellow boarders: http://palmettostatearmory.com/handgun-ammo.php I've shot the Tula stuff - it is...

Question on Shooting .357 vs .38 sp

I am not shooting anything less than 148 grain whether 38sp or +p or 357 (I know it's mainly 125gr 357 that is the concern) thanks to you all for the warnings when I first picked up the gun. However, I don't believe they are all the same bullet weight between the different loads. It just seems...

Question on Shooting .357 vs .38 sp

I'm finding that the gun muzzle moves too much if I stage or cheat the pull. I am trying to pull straight through the double action and I have to do it rather fast without jerking, it's been a real challenge - lol.

Question on Shooting .357 vs .38 sp

I do think that I focused harder even though the recoil was alot stronger. What's weird is that I am really strugglng with an even trigger pull, but it seemed to be better with the hotter load. That's why I tend to think it's mental...

Question on Shooting .357 vs .38 sp

Went to the range today and shot a ridiculous amount of ammo with my 19-4. I'm getting the hang of it a little better. I found that I was grouping the .357 mag rounds better than the .38 special and .38 sp +p at 10 yards. My question is: Has anyone else had this experience? I can't figure...

Sigh..Just Had a Debate with my SFIL

awesome insight everybody - thank you! Really a lot of ideas I would never think of. You know what it was, first he got on my wife and I about drinking bottled water and how it is destroying the earth, then the hybrid cars now guns. I just had enough. I do think that now he is retired, he has...

Sigh..Just Had a Debate with my SFIL

Thanks, all of these replies are fantastic! I don't feel alone. I'm happy for those that don't have the problem and I love those who had better responses than I did - lol. What amazes me I guess is that he was in the military and still has this attitude. He must have gone straight in as an...
