    Beretta O/U 12 Ga problem

The 682 gold e bottom single trap combo has a screw to prevent inadvertent barrel selection changes. The safety is still operable. The screw can be removed, barrel selection change made, and screw replaced, as needed.

    Soft .357 loads

Recovering from shoulder surgery and want to load some light loads using 158 gr FMJ bullets with Bullseye powder. I've heard a good starting point is the max load for .38 special +10%. Neither my Lyman or Speer books show a .38 load for FMJ/158 gr using Bullseye. I can find 158 gr LSWC data...

    45 acp COL questions

I use the same Hornady 185 SWC with 4.5 Bullseye and load to 1.225" OAL. Using a S&W 945-1 Performance Center gun. Good accuracy.

    Bullseye Question

I can shoot all day with 4.0 bullseye loaded to 1.227". Great accuracy in my S&W 945. (Hornady 230 gr FMJ-TC)

    40 s&w oal

I load my .40 S&W 165 gr FMJ to 1.120" for a Glock 22. I recently compared some 1.115-1.119" loads to the 1.120's, and found a better grouping. I also compared some 1.125-1.127's to the 1.120's and they were worse. I have found that an adjustment of "5 minutes" (looking at a clock face)...

    resizing problem

+1 on the Redding G-Rx if you shoot .40 S&W in a Glock. Couple of issues to consider--Don't clean your brass shiny before using the G-Rx. The cleaner the brass is, the harder it is to push the brass through. Also, the Imperial wax works much better than case lube. Wax alternating...

How to tell bad 40 Smith brass?

I have a Redding push through resizing die, and based on the amount of muscle needed, I'd say my Glock 22 is leaving a bulge behind. Not anything like the pictures above, but enough to create pressure in the die.

    9mm coal for 125 JHP

Thanks RF and Walkalong. I know from experience the gun likes a 124 gr RN at 1.135". I will find out Tuesday what it likes in the 125 JHP. Last night I loaded some test rounds at 1.126, 1.120 and 1.115. I suspect it'll cycle with all three, and once I find the best grouping, I'll play...

    9mm coal for 125 JHP

The 125 JHP Zero bottoms out at 1.136" on my S&W 952-1 barrel. At 1.135", I am really close to the max, so I will back it off to 1.126" for this bullet in this gun, and try it for accuracy. I don't see much sense in dropping back to the Lyman 1.075", but I will try different powder loads...

Thanks, RF. I'll go give that a try.

    9mm coal for 125 JHP

Thank you very much for the information. I am shooting a S&W 952-1, which accepts the 124 round nose at 1.135" very well. I have never run a JHP through this gun. The 125 gr bullets are Zero, and I have no experience with these either. This is not my carry weapon, nor IDPA gun. Strictly...

    9mm coal for 125 JHP

Thanks, 1SOW. I'll give that a try (load light and go shorter).

    9mm coal for 125 JHP

Lyman's indicates 1.075" for the coal for 125 JHP's in 9mm. This seems a bit on the short side to me. I normally load 124 FMJ RN to 1.135", but I ran out. All that remains in the room is 125 JHP, and I have no experience with this bullet. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Reloading Certification

Is there any truth to the statements made by Phoenix State University's statements that certified reloaders can purchase reloading components at wholesale prices? Their online course costs $99 for a couple weeks of email classes, and awards a certificate to those completing the course...

    LNL AP issue

Just found out the hard way that the rod that connects the upper and lower powder assemblies can wiggle loose. It is attached with a thumb screw that over time loosens. When the rod is no longer attached, powder does not drop. Probably not too big a deal if you are using and watching the...

Need help with .45 ACP target load development

I have been loading 4.0 of Bullseye behind Precision 200 gr LSWC for paper punching. I load to 1.242" coal for a S&W 945. I tried these bullets in a S&W 625 this week, and ended up with a forcing cone full of lead. Makes me think I need to raise the powder charge for the revolver. Does...

Questions loading 45ACP and 200 gr LSWC

I have been loading Precision 200 gr LSWC using 3.9 grs of Bullseye. These bullets have a concave base, not flat. I load these to 1.242" with a crimp of .470". Also, I purchased a separate set of dies to use in the LNL with the LSWC. I purchased Lee's which have a separate seating die...

    .45 ACP case length

Thank you everyone. This is the illustration I remembered seeing. I just got a new 945 Smith and tested a few sized cases in the removed barrel, and anything over .893" seemed to be near flush. The illustration suggests I can go all the way to flush. (Oddly, my 1911 Smith can go another...
