Not all 9mm jacketed/plated bullets are sized the same

In my experience, larger diameter bullets improve accuracy in many 9 mm semiauto pistols, especially if european-made. .3565 - .357" plated bullets are often much better than .355 - .356" ones.

I’d like to know if someone measured the speed of CCI Shotshell .45 ACP Ammo, and if there are some expedients necessary to avoid damages to the chronograph. Thanks in advance!

Old Loading Manuals vs New Loading Manuals

I will use HS-6 as an example because it was very glaring to me. Hodgdon dropped the max charge by a lot and many claim they did so because the testing methods are better. What got me was they were claiming the velocities are the same with the new loads too. (or even higher) I checked the data...

Old Loading Manuals vs New Loading Manuals

joed, many times powders aren't reformulated, but simply there are wide differences from lot to lot, much more in not-canister powder lots reserved to professionals reloaders but that in some way catch up with the "retail" market.

Old Loading Manuals vs New Loading Manuals

You are correct, it's best to have several different sources of load data to compare when working up a new load. I find that helpful. Il tuo inglese è molto buono, non ti preoccupare. (Your English is very good, do not worry.) Thanks ArchAngelCD, your Italian is very good too.

Old Loading Manuals vs New Loading Manuals

I've found, too, some recent powder lots way off of expected burning rate and loading data.

Old Loading Manuals vs New Loading Manuals

I've seen some recent official pistol loading data those max loads barely cycle the slide... and others very very (sometimes, even too much!) hot. Some data are only calculated with some internal ballistic program, not tested in pressure guns as they should. One must get old and new loading...

Hello :) Gamestalker and ArchAngelCD, I'm only curious about the age of my primers. I'm sure d'Artagnan knows the answer to my question, and I hope that he will read this thread. I live in Liguria. Bests, Maxm

    DuPont/IMR 700-X

Hello :), I have an old 700-X powder 8 oz. metal can labeled Du Pont, identical to the not-so-old IMR-labeled metal cans. Someone knows when the can label was changed from DuPont to IMR, please? Thanks in advance, Maxm

    CHRONY Err1 problem...

By Galil5.56: "Not to be smart alecky, but your SC problem, and a few others even worse I have personally experienced with SC products, and they all went away when I got a ProChrono Digital. I got the same err message and others, and it made using the SC a PITA, wasted ammo, my time... Any...

    Problems with 9mm CBC brass...

I don't know about CBC 9x19 cases, but the CBC 9x21 ones are considerably thicker than any other brand. 9x19 and 9x21 mm case walls are often of uneven thickness, and the bulge goes always on the thinner side of the case.

    45 ACP +P Load

I'm sorry Galil5.56, Alliant powders aren't available here in Italy :banghead:. HS-6 is difficult to find, but available; I don't have it, but in future I plan to find and test it. Friendly :), Maxm
