Hello :),
I have an old 700-X powder 8 oz. metal can labeled Du Pont, identical to the not-so-old IMR-labeled metal cans.
Someone knows when the can label was changed from DuPont to IMR, please?
Thanks in advance,
Maxm

The key in that official history is "One of the locations of the newly constructed plants was Valleyfield, in Canada. This plant continues to be the primary supplier of IMR Legendary Powders today." DuPont got out of the powder business in 1975 and IMR Powder of Canada started applying their trademark.

Hodgdon got IMR Powder Company in 2006 but that is just the US distributor, they do NOT own the factory. That is now a General Dynamics subsidiary. (As is Primex of Florida, maker of Hodgdon Spherical and Winchester Ball powder.)

Thanks!
So, i could suppose that my DuPont-marked metal can was made in 1975 or before?

I don't know.
They may have kept the DuPont brand for a while after moving production to Canada.
Or they may not.
I have a DuPont 700X can, too.
