U.S. Army: "Terrorists don't register their weapons...Are you a terrorist?"

Terrorists don't eat pizza, are you a terrorist because you eat pizza? This is the latest installation of an ever increasingly anti-gun powerful few. Examples: the media, the Obama admin, this whacko, and the democratic leadership.

Hey, I'm an avid outdoorsman. I believe the right to bear arms truly is inalienable. I have a M1911 made in 1917, a tricked out Bushmaster AR, and a .22 plinker. I reload .223/5.56 and .45 ACP. I love TheHighRoad.org, m1911.org, and AR15.com, and am an NRA member. Good to meet ya'll! :)

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

-quoted from military.com- After a long search for a .45 ACP caliber 1911 duty pistol, in 2002 the LAPD's SWAT team adopted a special version of the Kimber Custom II. Equipped with a few custom features over and above what already comes standard on a Kimber 1911, the LAPD Kimbers were issued to...

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

The 1911 continues to be chosen by SWAT, the green berets, and competitive shooters despite challenges by newer designs and technologies. I was refering to a previous caliber discussion. I was comparing the 45 ACP round to the 9mm round. Sorry if I wasn't clear :o I did.:D

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

haha. I love both. If I had $500 I'd buy a 21 sf. I have a 1911 not for cc, but for riding "shotgun" in the car. I can point better with a 1911, so it is my gun of choice. If I wanted a cc gun, I'd get a small framed glock in 40 or 45 ACP, or, if I'm rich one day, maybe 45 GAP. :p I bought my...

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

Did you read the ballistic comparison post? The 45 acp cartridge has 33 PERCENT more surface area after 12 inches of penetration than the 9mm cartridge. John Browning developed the 1911 in response to problems encountered by American units fighting Moro guerrillas during the Philippine-American...

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

I started the thread off by saying it was a comparison between the glock 21 and 1911 (for the sake of the discussion chambered in 45 ACP, I know 1911 clones can be chambered in different calibers.); both of which are chambered in 45 ACP. I got sidetracked when members debated the benefits of 45...

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

I think 10mm is on par, if not beats 45 ACP. That's why I edited my first post. And, a pistol's philosophy of use is NOT to punch through steel, but to get maximum expansion after penetrating 12 inches of flesh. 9mm +P ammo has 33% less expanded surface area after twelve inches penetration than...

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

David E, are you going to ignore my post because I misspelled one word and said that the Glock is similar to the s&w m&p or the springfield XD?

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

-taken from hipowersandhandguns.com- Let's take a gander at some other loads for both calibers and see how they stack up against each other. Speer's excellent 9mm 124-gr. Gold Dot (std. pressure) chronographs 1109 ft/sec on the nose from one of my Mk III Hi Powers. The same company's standard...

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

false comparison I looked more closely at your table. 45+P acp (see attached) beats it by 5-30% in every category. You didn't use +p in 45 auto.

1911 vs Glock: the foot in the bees' nest

*bee's hive Doh! :what::cuss::cuss::cuss: What do you mean you think you think you answered the age old question?!? Well, I hoped to shed some light on both pistols and help people in their decision making process. I chose the Glock to represent the polymer pistol arena because it is probably...

    Kennesaw Ga. crime index...

I live in N. GA and we have a VERY low crime rate. Our county hasn't had a murder in 5 or 6 years, and compared to adjacent counties, that's outstanding. Kennesaw GA is one of the safest places in the state, bar none.

AR UPPER: How to tell if its BUSHMASTER or not.

How do you tell the difference between a Bushmaster AR upper and another brand? I know bushys have heat shields, but do they stamp their name on it? Any and all comments welcome. thanks!
