    concealed carry rifle

I think you'll find most laws today are unclear. I just breezed through the permit pamphlet and state law defines a firearm as, "Firearm" means any weapon, whether loaded or unloaded, which is designed to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive and includes any such weapon commonly...

    concealed carry rifle

CZ223 here is information you will find enlightening about concealed carry in maine. Not sure who or where you were told about carrying in a car, but it's incorrect. Here's a link half way down the page it addresses carry in cars...

    Help me pick a lever

I'd go marlin as well and if you dislike the safety, as 1858 said there are ways to get rid of it. Marlins are the most accurate lever guns I have seen and have a slick consistent actions with many after market accessories at a great price. The .44 has a slower twist rate, so stabilizing...

    45-70

The .45-70 will only lose 50-75 fps between the cowboy and the and the 22" version. There is a great handloader magazine where the author takes it to africa for cape buffalo. You can also load the marlin up to 43,000 psi safely. The load manuals stick generic "lever gun" data together because...

    concealed carry rifle

Depends on state laws, here in maine you can carry any firearm ready to go round in the chamber if you have a concealed carry permit, if you don't it must be stored seperately from ammo. They also define a firearm by law as any handgun, shotgun, or longgun.

    concealed carry rifle

A lot of people have truck guns or at least claim to use one gun or another of theirs as a truck gun. I like the idea but I was thinking that there are many times I want that firepower to come with me. The reasons I would do so are: I often walk around with a back pack and if I can tote...

    Colt M357

I have a colt model 357 I bought last year, with last years ammo shortage and no dies for the caliber at the time I didn't get to shoot or carry it much. With spring coming on I will be using it as a trail gun and sometimes as ccw when I would be going from the woods or a hiking situation back...

Looking to get an inexpensive truck handgun.

+1 on the stoeger as well, j&g has smith .38 k frames for 220 with a 4" barrel, there are still some sig 225 for 350.00 at j&g, the other thing I'd recommend is a rock island 1911 tactical, centerfiresyems.com has them on back order for 420.00, they are very reliable and I've never heard anyone...

Best/Cheapest Place to Buy Ammo Online?

ammoman.com is still the best as far as I can tell for defensive ammo and plinking, their price includes all shipping and handling fees. The other guys you need to calculate that in.

Finally, I found a legitimate use for the .500 S&W

I've always crapped on this round for being of no use and that the .454 was more than enough to hunt anything on earth with a handgun (within reason). But, I was thinkin' the other day, "What would put the slow down on an old 800 series terminator." Whelp, I figure a couple rounds to the head...

    Anyone ever use these?

I kinda like bumble bees, but I've heard of people walking in fields scaring up the great big flying type grass hoppers and popping them like birds. My experience on game like squirrels is that they are pretty worthless.

FMJ just fine out of a rifle for defense?

An fmj out of a .45 does not have good terminal performance, FBI police shooting data place any handgun fmj in poor standing and ballistic gelatin test support this. Whether real world or lab tests both point to fmj not being worth while when modern hollow points exist. .45 acp is a better fmj...

    J-frame concealed carry questions

I like comtac iwb, mine is a hybrid model, leather is against you while kydex keeps it shape for easy holstering but their j frame holsters are all kydex. You should call them and see if they can't do something for you. They are great to work with they might be able to adapt their kydex j frame...

9mm revolver, what are the good points?

Can we close this thread yet? I thought everyone pretty much came to a consensus. When comparing all three revolvers chambered in the three possible calibers. .38 all different lengths, weights, sights etc. -cheaper guns to buy -lighter especially for the money -about 250 for jacketed and low...
