I’ve not shot any cast yet. I’m gonna order a few soon to play with. I have seen some of the bullets with wide meplats are an issue. I’m in a couple Xten groups on Facebook and there’s a good number of the guys that shoot them solely. I’ve been looking at bullet sand comparing them trying to...
The sig issues are mag related with long col ammo. I reload all my 10mm ammo for my sig. I seat them 1.250” and with a wolf extra powder spring and the +4 base bad I don’t have ftf issues. I don’t have issues with the couple boxes of factory sig vcrown either. 180/200gr. I’ve not seen people...
Cfe pistol does better closer to max loads. I run 6.5gr I think in my 9mm with 124s. Thats the reason I wanted to try it in 45. If I can stick to 1 powder for both that will make it easier. And I can get it local for 38/lb
No. I get book loads generally don’t match. But of the powders I’ve been playing with this one was the furthest off. I don’t have a problem pushing my charges up. I wanted to get the cfe pistol to try being i shot a lot of it in 9mm also and it does well for me. So if I can get 1 powder to load...
I went out and shot some of these loads this afternoon with my sierra jhp. Max book shows 6.8gr netting 940s.
Thats wayyy off what I’m getting. Granted that with a Hornady fmj at 1.200. I loaded to 1.230”
They shot ok. I’m gonna do some checking see where to go next.
I got another 900 of...
I understand. But most of the 45acp hasn’t changed from inception of the round. Most expanding bullets are made to expand in the velocity window of the acp. There’s only a few companies that have actually loaded 45acp to decent velocities. I have a 10mm also that I load for. I’ve also got 2...
Yessir. I prefer them. Usually cheaper cause people don’t want them. And I generally use small rifle primers so I can just stock up on one. But I got 3k spp to run in these
Carefully. After talking to a balistic rep for shootersworld powder. It doesn’t produce as much pressure as the underwood loadings do. I ordered a box of the underwood 230gr +p load to run over my chrony and compare brass to.
I know this is a bit of an old thread. But I’m going to add the sig p320 x10. I reload mine. But I’ve bought a couple boxes of the sig vcrown to have and compare. The 200gr vcrown load shoots pretty well in it. The 180 is about the only full power load I’ve come across. I shoot the majority of...
Go check out berelli.com. They have a good sale on ammo. The ranger t series are just updated/upgraded black talon bullets. There’s a few YouTube videos of them in short barrels. I like the hst bullet and the sig vcrown loading
The 250gr isn’t blowing things up. It’s right there with buffalo bore ammo. I don’t plan to shoot thousands of them. But I do have all the springs coming I need to beef things up for the heavier recoiling loads. 460roland is pushing 1400fps with a 250gr. 45 super is 1000 give or take depending...
I seen a few posts about it and the operator being fine to use for it. It’s suggested to upgrade springs when chasing the higher velocity. I guess I’m really only gong for +p or +p+. I don’t need 1200fps with a 230/250gr. But I do want it over 1000fps. I’ve got a 10mm to push and run for that if...
I’ve always prefered small primer being I’ve got so many small rifle primers for 223 and 65grendel. I use them in 9mm also. It makes it easier when buying primers
Picked up a Springfield armory operator the other day I was at the range from a gentleman that was having issues.
I’ve never been a huge 45acp fan. It’s just always felt kind of anemic.
I got 2 mags ful of ammo with the pistol. Went about and shot them and remembered how do t like it.
I’ve...
