Wood grips for a Taurus M85?

Hi Indifferent. I don't usually shoot at indoor ranges. We shoot mostly out doors, especially at competitions. Or we go to BLM land above Mojave City. We went New Years Day and the weather was perfect. Not a bit of wind, and thanks to the rain, super clear skies. You could see the snow on the...

WOW! Family confirmed that is it! Thanks!

    An odd machine gun?

I've got this weird part. Clearly it's a mag loader. The previous owner had a Thompson M1A1 and, I found out yesterday, something called a 'Commando Carbine' machine gun. All his guns have been sold so I can't track any info that way. A wonderful guy at a Thompson site mentioned this mag...

    What's with you girls?

Hi Yoda. I know what you mean. I'm not 'O' ring with my own gun. The DH took us to an outdoor range to sight in his new rifle & scope. I'd been shooting, he'd been sighting. I lean over it (on a bench), line it up, pull the trigger and dead on. I thought he'd been doing that too. Turns out it...

    concealed carry badges?

If having two threads with nearly the same topic is a concern, why don't the mods simply merge them together? They can even decide which title rules after the merger. Everyones notification links will flow to the merged thread. The software knows....

    Life of “plastic” guns?

Which is better? Which lasts longer? Depends on how it is used and stored. My personal guns are a Glock 34 and a S&W 357/38 revolver. My DH perfers his SA 1911 and his S&W MP. We shoot a lot. He competes several times a month. And our shooting friends are pretty evenly divided between 1911s...

What is the best gun ever?

Yeah, I would think the answer would be the one that does the job you need it to do. If going 'bang' is all you need, it's an easier answer. There are two guns I wish we'd kept...the M1 Garand and the Sig Sauer P223. Shooting the Garand was classic, and the Sig was the nicest 45 I've ever...

    concealed carry badges?

Jean Luc would never curse. I think of this thread every time I leave the house...to wear a badge or not wear a badge...that is the question! :)

Working Guns for Homesteading/rural/off grid lifestyle?

Interesting thread. I grew up in the country, and it always surprises me when I see a long gun in the hands of the farmer while in the cab of the tractor. Guns were something we had, and took out once in a while. Now I see them all the time while their working. Good thing they are driving...

    How often do you carry?

Idaho is beautiful. All parts of the state. And we understand it's easy to get a CCW. It will be hard not to like it! If you like matches, I know of one just north of Boise.

    Local Members?

Well...to ship over state lines for powder & primers requires Hazmat, and the whole point of bulk buys is to avoid that, or at least share the costs. Although we can ship the lead bullets. It's just really heavy (and goes flat rate Priority Mail). Local shooting clubs? That's an idea. Maybe...

    Your favorite gun daydream

A light weight concealable hand gun that didn't have horrible recoil with a deadly round, and a comfortable way to carry it concealled while dressed like a woman. (Let's face it, our clothes are designed to hug, and show every curve. There's no where to fit a holster.)

    Your favorite gun daydream

Hey...I just saw one of those last night on Gunbroker.com! The same guy is selling a straight mag'd one, too.

    Concealed carry identification?

Dan, did you know that nearly every single CCW issued by Mike Corona was reversed? At the time cost close to $500 to get one (there were tons of things to do, or forms to submit, so the end total was about $500). Which makes it an expensive bet (issuance was not guaranteed). You know those...

    Local Members?

Is there a way, a resource to find THR members local to my area? We collect lead, sell Bear Creek bullets for reloading, and often do bulk buys for powder & primers. If there was a way to help those local to us (Orange County, CA) stay on the firing line, I'd love to know how to reach...

    How often do you carry?

I realize this was to address those with a CCW, and I've never had one. But I used to carry, depending on where I was going. This may be illogical, but I'd carry if a) I was doing a road trip or b) going somewhere I'm not familiar. The road trip scenario worked great with the Suburban...

    Concealed carry identification?

I'm jealous you live in a state where you can get one! But then, I have a 25+ year friend who lives in VT, where you don't need a CCW to conceal, and he thinks that I'm 'terrifying' because I shoot and sell bullets & powder to local shooters. So I sent him a picture from last Friday, with...

What are you using for home defence? Rifle, Pistol or shotgun?

10+1 HP+ in a Glock & a shotgun Because the Glock is in the finger safe under the bed, and you use your handgun to get back to your long gun! Comfortable: Yes. Confident: Yes. In it's capabilities? Yes. In the user's ability? Definitely. Routinely 'tuned.' The real deal is we...

Wood grips for a Taurus M85?

LOL, it's last post was only a few months ago! It all fit so well, I had to revive it. I know what you mean about the magnums. I have one, too. Ah...but this would allow you to an alternative! Like a change of clothes? Or don't shoot mags! Have a good evening.
