    Winchester 101 experiences

I am seriously considering the purchase of a new Winchester 101 Trap gun. Does anyone have experience with the new Belgium (FN) built models?

    Charter Arms Undercover question

My local shop has a mint CA Undercover; Bridgeport made, serial # 117,000. I really like its size and the way it looks, with the exposed ejector rod. I know their cylinder locking system is different than S&W. The trigger is smooth, but just before it trips there is a light click, like...

    GSG 1911 .22lr range report

Yesterday I was in my local shop and saw, for the first time, the GSG 1911. I asked to see it, put it in my hand, said I would buy it, then asked how much ($334). The reason was twofold; I had heard good things about it, and it simply felt "right', just like my S&W 1911. I love .22lr pistols...

    How to calculate bullet drop?

I have a Savage Model 99 in .300 Savage; my range is only 50 yards indoors. I have it sighted at 2 inches high at that distance (with 180 gr bullet). Where can I find data about the amount of drop? I would like the zero to be at 150 yards.

    Which .22 for training?

I am finally giving up on my SIG Mosquito; I have tried to love it (and when it works I do), but it is too finicky and not very accurate. Now I am faced with trying to find an accurate, dead stop reliable .22lr which is a good semi-auto trainer for my larger calibers. I have a S&W 617 and a...

    SW 622 Opinions Needed

I saw, for the first time today at my local shop, a SW 622 (looks like a 4" barrell). I must say it was a very nice looking pistol, very well finished (brushed aluminum??). It was either very lightly used, or never fired. Box, two mags, $229.00. Shop owner, whom I have dealt with for years...

    I have a "Unique" question

I started reloading about 8 years ago and loaded .45 Colt almost exclusively for most of this time (use Unique). This year, I also began loading .45 ACP and 9MM and will be loading .380 ACP shortly. My question is this; should I expand beyond using Unique for these other cartridges? I like...

    Sometimes you get lucky

I was at my local range today and there were two LEOs in plain clothes shooting on the lane next to me. They fired 2,000 rounds of 9mm Federal (Classic I think; the shells were chrome). In 30 years of shooting I never saw two guys go through so much ammo in such a short period of time; I...

Does Anyone know a "Natural" Handgun Shot?

I would be interested to know if you have seen or know of someone who, without ever having shot a gun of any kind before, picks up a pistol and shoots bulls. I have recently met such a person. My wife and I were at a Christmas party a few weeks ago and we met a couple who we enjoyed speaking...

    S&W 41 barrell length

What are the differences in Bullseye shooting events between a 5.5" or 7" barrell. The 5" appears "heavier" in the nose, the 7" "thinner & sleeker"; I am assuming this keeps the weight balanced. Any thoughts?

Newby; Buckmark Bullseye Model 7.25" question

I am looking to get into Bullseye; my local shop has the above mentioned pistol with the supported thumb rosewood grips and fluted barrell. It appears to be in outstanding condition, 95% or better. He is asking $379 for it. Is this a good price? My question is; would this make a good first...

.22LR pistol for Bullseye & other competitions

I am an experienced shooter who, aside from a few years in SASS events, has never participated in competitive shooting events or associations. As I enjoy target shooting immensely, I would like to begin, but really don't know what is available and what I would be most suited to/for. I...

    Which Mosin Nagant Model?

I was in a large Farm store today and they had a huge number of very clean and nice looking M-Ns; 30s, 38s and 44s (with Bayonets). The 30s were $99, the 38s and 44s were $149-169 depending on "condition". The tag said Century Arms (importer) and they all were void of cosmoline and a quick...

    Uberti Colt Lightening Clone

Uberti makes a gorgeous Lightening; does anyone have experience with it? I have had a Uberti 1866 Winchester in .45 Colt for 8 years and it is my favorite rifle. Their Lightening is exquisite looking, but very expensive new. I have a chance to buy a used one in what appears 98% condition...

    Seeking Hi-Power Grip recommendations

I have a new BHP, which I absolutely love. The stock walnut grips, while very nice to look at, are a bit "blocky". I have small hands and would like to know from HP owners nice aftermarket grips which not only feel a little svelter but look so too.
