New k31s may be purchased from Haemmerli in 7.5x55, .308, 30-06 and 300 Winmag. That tells you something about the receiver. Elmig/Greuniger makes competition rifles in 7.5x55..... and of course, Blaser. Forgot to mention that any .308 cartridge generates more pressure than the 7.5x55
