    Shooter Progression

Both targets appear to be lit from the 11 o'clock position. Based on the high lights and shadows, the targets have been drawn on the backside, i.e. convex when they should be concave. You do not describe how the shots were made, either offhand of from a rest or not, our whether the rifle has...

    Concealed carry opinions needed

Since you are familiar with 1911s, I would suggest you look at the Springfield Armory EMPS in 9mm and 40 S&W. The 9mm which I have its an aluminum frame to help with weight. The EMP was designed around the 9mm cartridge, so the frame is actually smaller than most regular 3" 1911s in 9mm, which...

    Where should I start looking?

Lots of good advice and intentions, however, you have not described your shooting experience. If you have received formal training or not? I bet if you have received formal training, the recoil from a 9mm or larger caliber would not be such an issue. I raise the issue of training because you...

View of Gunshot Wounds By A Surgeon

a video well worth watching. I need to send this to a friend who is an ER doctor and shooter an interesting correlation between caliber and potential wound size (depending on ammo type -video assume hollow points), ie, bigger caliber can result in larger wound cavity -makes sense, but...

this is also my first SS gun, so I've trolled for cleaning advice. Most seem to avoid brass brushes? Lots of lead remover cloth used as well. Any good tips?

I'll probably stick to the 357 cases, so I don't need to adjust the dies. I'm planning on using 158 gr. SWC from Missouri Bullet with Titegroup and small pistol primers. I have read varying opinions on taper crimp or roll crimp. Thoughts?

I am the proud owner of a S&W .357, 686 plus 6" stainless steel. This is a fun gun to shoot -accurate, light recoil. 38s feel like a 22, 357 very comfortable. I love it! An interesting experience- I bought some Tula 357 in aluminum shells. Ejecting them was difficult versus brass. Is...

Aurora theater shooter had an accomplice

http://www.brasschecktv.com/videos/assassination-studies-1/eyewitness-someone-deliberately-let-the-gunman-inside.html I haven't heard or read much about this. Anyone else? Had read James Holmes entered from the emergency door. Look at the emergency door picture in the link above...

    Need help shopping for a 9mm 1911

I have a 9mm SA EMP and a Wilson Combat CQB Govt in .45, so quite familiar with 1911s Did your wife handle the EMP? Since it's designed for the 9mm cartridge the width and depth of the grip is smaller than a Kimber Aegis and others that are based on .45 frames. The 9mm EMP has an aluminum...

Living with an anti-gun spouse, how do you do it?

I have to ask if you have ever tried to get her to the range. A lot if people's ideas about firearms are based on lack of knowledge and resuting fear and avoidance. Your wife needs to understand that your interest in firearms is for the safety of family. When you are out with them, perhaps...

Teach me how to shoot with one eye shut

Only one way - practice. Start with dry fire. You should be able to focus in the front sight easily enough. Focus long enough that the front sight is the only item in focus. You say you are right eye, right hand dominant, so this should be easy with either both eyes open or right eye open...

    EMP 9mm/ Pocket carry

I have an EMP 9mm and could not even think about pocket carrying this either as many have posted, it is too big. It is similar in size to the Ruger LC9 and Kimber Solo; not pocket guns. There are many more pocket guns smaller than the EMP.
