    I believe that is a fine thing to do. Several years ago, I passed my Ithaca 16 ga. to my oldest son, this had been passed down to me. He was happy as a lark, & I take great pleasure in watching him enjoy it.

    A Colt Walker?....

    I believe the Walker had the wedge enter the frame from the right side,& the Dragoon wedge entered from the the left side. I see the wedge enters from the right on the one in question, but it just doesn't look right to me. I can't explain further!!! I vote for a repro. Guns are fun!! Digger
